Lost in all of this is that Sir Joseph “Brick” Woll is an absolute stud in elimination games. Something like a .950 sv% in 4 or 5 elimination games. Absolutely nuts that we’re blessed with this guy as our “backup.”

We are half way to this pollyanna comment aging well. I posted this during the period of angry dooming after the Game Three Bed-Shitting incident.
~PDFBetween my raging at the Leafs after game 5, there is a comment I made about this comeback being all the sweeter. This COULD be a turning point in these guys careers. Finally slaying the dragon. I’m still pessimistic about what we’ll see in game 7, but I truly, desperately want to be proven spectacularly wrong.

Marner’s camp said they weren’t talking new contracts until after the season, so MLSE felt they needed to protect themselves by trading him.
~Atomic WedgieJeez, that might have backfired spectacularly for Marner. First, Rantanen signs at a VERY nice number for Dallas, absolutely tears it up in the playoffs, and then Marner does his typical disappearing act when the games start to mean something. Sure, someone is going to pay him, but I genuinely believe he wanted to spend his whole career in Toronto.
Honestly, I think he winds up in San Jose. He can do his fancy pants shit all day there, not have to worry about the playoffs likely for a few years, make a boat load of money, and have no pressure at all.
