Agree. The free agent market is thin and it would cost more assets to bring in a center via trade. If JT will sign cheap, then sign him, and have him be a C/W like Stamkos. Ideally, he is your slightly overpaid 3C and special teams guy and not an overwhelmed slow 2C who gets caved every game.
But yeah, JT wasn’t why the Leafs lost……he’s also part of why they didn’t win, but you can’t hang the loss on him alone.
then why would he take a discount knowing the market is thin? out of the goodness of his heart? many teams will be calling his agent for his services.

Hire Mckee or someone from the outside is a good move. Money shouldn’t be an issue so if he is there man make it happen.

why cant this orginization just cut ties with people who really offer no value. Lappy was under contract and going to get paid either way. There is zero need to have him around as an advisor. failing upward is the flyers way

– will be interesting to see how O’Reilly pans out at the NHL level. Flyers seen him a lot and clearly didn’t want to draft him. Traded the pick to the oilers ( with nothing coming back) and they took him.

A trade for Isaac Howards rights between the Flyers and Lightning would probably work. He hasn’t signed an ELC yet, and my understanding based on rumors is he wouldn’t mind playing for the Flyers
