A rested Hawk team plays their 2nd consecutive oppenent playing a back-to-back. Hawks started out fast in their game against the Kings and I thought they would cruise to a victory. Goes to show you that you have to play 60 minutes. Yes Dots, I hope they learned their lesson. Ottawa put up 7 last night and are coming into the game with some momentum.

    15 to 20 game mark

After tonight, Hawks begin a western 6 game road trip to kick off games 11-20 of the season. We’ll see how they perform and whether they can maintain their approximate .500 point percentage. Hopefully they can keep their heads above water and use the trip as a bonding experience.

If Bert and Mik are injured, will they make the trip with 11 healthy forwards or bring up someone from Rockford for a week or so?

    Reichel

The 4th round 2027 pick the Hawks received back for Reichel is their own which was sent to VAN in the trade for Mikheyev, Lafferty, VAN 2nd round pick. Lafferty moved on and was reacquired. That trade tree can now be looked at as Mik and the 2nd for Reichel.

Mikheyev turned out pretty well for a cap dump. That new trade tree looks pretty good to me also.

<p style=”line-height: 27px !important; transition: all;” data-userway-s17-styled=”true” data-line-height-feature-value=”1″>Watching the hogs last night, looking forward to Moore playing in the bigs he’s the opposite of Reichel he’s a kid who skates with purpose and the team defense will be better for it.

And some of the other prospects had good games last night.

Boisvert with an assist in BU’s 3-1 win.
Mustard with a goal and assist in Providence’s win.
Vanacker with a goal (empty netter) and assist in Brantford’s win.
Nestrasil with a goal and an apple in UMass’s loss.
Gajan give up 1 goal in UMD’s 4-1 win. He is now 7-1 on the season with a 1.25 GAA and .938 Save %.

Also in the Prospects forum (link above) is a link to an article about goalie prospect Adam Gajan and the things he is doing to improve his game and mindset. Good read.

I came across this article regarding Gajan and the things he is doing off ice to improve his game and mindset. So far this season at Minnesota-Duluth he is 5-1 with a .922 save % and 1.51 GAA.

I just added a video over at the Prospects forum about Kantserov. The host does a pretty good job, IMO, analyzing his play. Here’s the link to the forum:

Elbows (Gramps 28 here) over at Blackshawks Buzz posted this video there. Don’t know who this host is, but he’s excited about Kantserov’s future. He does a pretty good job breaking down some tape and analyzing his overall play. He thinks Roman will be with the big club next year and will skip Rockford. At the end he is almost salivating about the possibility of Kantserov and Frondell on Bedard’s wings next year.

Hawks win and Florida loses. That 5 losses out of 6 for the Panthers. Both Hawks 1st’s may be in the middle of the round at this rate.

Thanks for the article Coach. Another good write up. It’s nice to see lower round picks make an impact at the NHL level. Let’s hope some of the several 3rd and 4th round picks in the system will be able to contribute down the road.
Another point about Kaiser is his mentoring of Levshunov. Those two seem to have hit it off both on and off the ice. I think it’s a sign of good leadership by Kaiser stepping up and and taking an active role in helping Lev along.

Here’s an early season look from NHL Central Scouting on 2026 prospects. They list candidates not in order of selection, but ranked by which round they are projected to go in. They have 27 “A” ratings meaning 1st round picks and 48 “B” – 2nd round selections. So according to them there will be some 2nd round quality available deep into the 3rd round.

I emailed Bill Meltzer requesting private messaging.
He replied that they don’t allow it because on some previous site it became abused.

    Muchas gracias.
