Cale Makar signs for 20.4 million a season, Quinn Hughes is in for a massive payday.

Wild with $1,152,501 in cap space. Good luck signing Quit Hughes. Maybe the Canucks can take on some $?. In any event they traded that runt at the perfect time.

They have until July 1 2027 to sort out the cap space. Gives them a good playoff run possibly this season without having to move money out.

Canucks sign goalie Chris Driedger to a PTO. Preparing for Demko not to be in camp.

Rossi should have no problem displacing the flake.

Maybe on the O side of things. Rossi is not very good defensively. I can see Manny looking to EP as the #1 pk forward, match ups etc… no forward in the NHL throws himself in front of shots as much as EP40 does. I get the feeling a coach like Manny is going to appreciate those parts of his game. I doubt he treats him with spite because of his contract amount reflecting how many fans feel. He shouldn’t be a coach if that’s the case.

    That’s more like it Nighty….

People just need to face the facts. The international bodies that regulate this stuff are all controlled by the US for the most part. People in these bodies pay the price for not sticking to the script. Ignore Israel’s genocide and US invasions or you get your personal banking shut down, employment taken from you, travel bans, threats on family, threats of violence and on and on. In reality, all the narratives about why bans and sanctioned are being handed out, USA and Israel are at the top for behaving like that. We are being played.

    Ban all or ban none.

Probably an unpopular comment. I’d pass on any Russian, based on our history and luck. We’re already trying to get rid of a talented flake. Trade up/down whatever, hard no.

We’re gonna win the draft lottery and take Landon Dupont anyway. There’s only two good Russian’s in the top ten, Yevgeni Yakunin and Nazar Privalov, when we get the top pick it won’t matter, Dupont is ours!!!

Have you watched Privalov? He looks 10 years older than anyone else on his junior team. Suspect. He also looks fat… but maybe just a weird body type. His skating is fast but looks out of control. I’m not even sure if he’s going to be a center?? Plays wing just as much I heard. Tape is so limited on him so far. People are excited about him but all I see so far is red flags.

On top of it all, he just signed 4 years in Russia. That means it will be 30/31 before he even comes to NHL camp… makes me feel like there’s more risk that he ends up staying in Russia… pass.

Russia is banned from all international sports nothing to do with IIHF only. Blame Ukraine for being invaded by a war criminal. Take it up with Ovi the Putin boot licker.

Avoid Russians when there are the Virtanens & Gaunces the old regimes no longer in Vancouver draft. Who needs hot garbage like a Demidov or Kaprizov.

Why only Russia? So you don’t see the hypocrisy of ignoring everything USA has done in recent decades. Presently they are the aggressor against Iran. Over a million dead in Iraq since their act of aggression there. It goes on and on. If Russia is out over Ukraine, USA should be out over it’s middle east wars. Same goes for Israel who is in a active genocide at the moment and invading more of it’s neighbors and stealing land. Russia out of the Olympics and World Cup but Israel, the biggest murdering war criminal on the planet is still allowed to participate. This is what I mean by politicized.

Strongest draft for the Russians the last decade I’m hearing. Smart move…

Too bad the IIHF is so unfairly politicized or scouts and fans could see these draft eligibles in international matches.

Nice…are you just chucking it out there from around Tower Point? A couple of my buddies got into them yesterday too, they said it was a crazy day and sent photos too. I’m jealous.

No, just 15 minutes up the road from our place in Sooke. I won’t mention the spot. Shore fishing in certain spots is getting stupid since a few people started posting videos and crap online. Guy almost hit me with his cast yesterday. The sad part is until this year me and a couple locals fished this spot to ourselves for around 20 years. Then one idiot we fish with posted a couple videos…now it’s stupid with people. 20 guys on a Monday when it would normally be 3 or 4.

I stopped fishing some of my favorite lakes because of this. Simon Lake use to be such a gem… now 45 min line ups to put a car topper in this little lake…. even longer to get out because the bite shuts off like a light switch and everyone wants to leave at the same time.

I was just reading the Edmonton daily face off and it was talking about Podkolzin how hard he is training. He looks slimmer faster his shot looks harder and they love him in Edmonton. If only Canucks had a young player that passionate and dedicated.

Novontny has been compared to Podz by quite a few. His size, skating, shot(although Novotny may have better), and relentless forecheck. Both players got a taste of pro early.

If Podz wasn’t Russian, most likely RT would have been more patient with him and he may still be a Canuck in the end.

    @Freaky

I just hope he gets healthy and plays good so they can trade him later in the season. He could land a 1st if old Demko returns.
