Minnesota is a highly taxed state, nearly the same as Alberta total (46.5% in Minnie and 48% in Alberta, still better than Ontario’s 53.53% thanks Dougie) so I’m guessing that’s why it was so high. The fact there is only one poster who spews his garbage on here daily about how the Leafs should have overpaid Marner (who by the way didn’t want to stay anyway) simply shows the vast majority of Leaf fans are fine with the Leafs not making this same type of mistake with Marner.
And to preemptively respond to the “Marner left because of the fans, media, crime blah blah blah” – suck it up buttercup. Marner is the poster child for spoiled, soft kids. He has been told his entire life he was special and better than everyone else and when he wasn’t he took his ball and ran away to somewhere new where they told him what he wanted to hear.

If he was a pro athlete in a single person sport with the talent he has he may have had far more success but he’s not built to be a team player and it became more and more obvious as his time in Toronto came to an end.
Yankees blew a lead and bases loaded with none out in the bottom on the 9th last night – it’s nice not to have to hear/read all the Yankees fans yapping today. lol
Prices for Jays post season tickets are crazy (resale because who was fast enough to get decently priced seats when they went on sale?).

I have a guy I used to work with who has seasons and he was selling tickets but I was too slow to get anything from him for the ALCS and I’m away for the ALDS.
Much like MLSE if season ticket holders want post season tickets they have to buy the entire set right up to the world series apparently. I locked in for a WS game at a really good price from him, figured it may be a once in a lifetime opportunity if the Jays get there so why not?
Minnesota Wild dropping huge cash AND term on a 28 year old who will be 37 when his 17M per year contract ends and who has never scored 50 goals in a single season is a pretty ballsy move for sure.
Mc Jesus will get 18M per year or more now guaranteed.

Choking when it countsAs much as in SOME of the games the umpiring has been atrocious (Springer got jobbed on back to back calls the other night and that for sure double probably would have been a huge momentum swing in that game and MAYBE resulted in a different outcome) the Jays have just been terrible at the plate and the pitching hasn’t been able to deliver either. Vladdy is ice cold, same with Kirk etc. They miss Bo’s bat big time but even that may not have been enough to prevent this slide they are in.
Kirk getting gunned out for the final out at 1st from left field was just the icing on the cake last night – so brutal.
Yankee’s getting hot (or Chicago being terrible) hasn’t helped and the Yanks have Baltimore to end the season – wild card spot for the Jays if a very possible / likely scenario.
Could be a pretty short post season sadly. 🙁

It’s generally AHL vs quasi NHL rosters so there can be some take aways but your right it’s predominately about revenue.
I mean yesterday in Ottawa the Sens had both their NHL goalies in for at least half the game in Sogard & Ullmark and they had Giroux, Apple Strudle, Chabot, Tkachuk, Peron, Ridely Greig, Batherson, Nick Cousins so basically an NHL Line up.
The Leafs had 2 non NHL goalies in Peska and Akhtyamov and the most talent they had from a scoring or NHL regular perspective was Robertson, Yark-crock, Kampf and Cowen.
It really was the Marlies vs the Sens IMO.
Like I said it will be the reverse in Toronto tomorrow and the Sens will win & this game will mean nothing and that game will mean the Leafs are terrible and the Sens are going to win the cup. lol
Them Jays are going to the post season …. for how many games will they play?

Was nice to see the Leafs B squad beat the Sens A squad. I’m sure the reverse will happen in Toronto and every Sens troll will be yapping about it like they won the cup. Lol
