erson was never a co-number one IMO. he was by default. well, calgary was good last year defensively. better than the flyers. nothing in vladers past suggest he will continue to post .93 save percentage.

you shouldn’t overestimate the flyers players. cant wait until april.

If the Flyers start scoring more, Vladar won’t need to.

The Flyers have had a few guys look like their overachieving. I certainly don’t know they haven’t found a higher level. That’s why you keep playing games.

Personally, I don’t see the resemblance to 07-08 and I certainly don’t see a Chris Pronger in their future. But ya never know…right!

I didn’t see Pronger in their future in 07-08. These builds don’t happen all at once.

they do not have 2 of their top 4 dman out. Risto being a top 4 on this team does not equate to him being a legit top 4 league wide. he isn’t.

what happens when the goalies regresses back his mean?

    Doesn’t matter. He’ll help

      this

team when he’s back in the lineup.

Ersson isn’t the co-number one any more. Vladar has won the job. The Flyers will remain much better in front of him than CGY was. That’s a team that is bottoming out. You shouldn’t overestimate the bulk of the league.

flyers fans crack me up. dont need centers. As I said teams won’t give up centers for wingers more than likely. just think how good this group will be when dvorak starts scoring and the jett/nesbitt waiting in the wings.

based on your stats is this easily a top 5 center group? where would you rank them league wide?

another simple question for you. do you see the flyers winning a cup in the next 4 years? yes or no.

Top half and better balanced than most.

This year is starting to remind me a lot of the 07-08 team. By 2010, that team was in the finals.

as I said get back to me at the Olympic break. 6 games are really meaningless unless they were like 0-6 getting blown out. peak tk is funny. with peak tk where has this team been?

The last good year the Flyers had was 19-20. That was 6 years ago already. The look better to me now than any time since 19-20. Nothing I’ve seen up to this point makes me think they’ll nosedive unless they run into a really rough injury patch and they already got through a stretch when two of their top 4 dmen were out.

TK is fn punk. always has been. pseudo tough guy

Look, this may be hard to accept but the team has been getting decent results without their top 2 scorers from last year playing very well. We finally saw some peak TK last night.

one big issue is teams are hurting for centers. are they going to give up what the flyers need?

The Flyers don’t need centers. Their top three centers have a combined 16 points in 18 games and are a +8. Which center is available who can upgrade that?

they are a boring bland team. not interesting in the least.

    Clearly correct.

Are things getting interesting already this season with the Flyers win last night against Seattle? There aren’t really any stars to speak on the team, they also lack any sort of depth down the middle and their defence is suspect at best, does Tocchet just have them playing well enough to be competitive on a nightly basis? He’s going to ruin my rebuild narrative if they don’t stop being competitive against these middle tier teams!

I think they’ve been interesting all along. You could see it coming if you knew what you were looking at.

what a D group the GM has assembled. Risto may not have a spot.

Risto, despite getting hurt a lot, has almost 800 NHL games and I thought he was better than York last year. I think they’ll find a spot for him.

when they add martone in April they will have one of the best forward groups in the league. he will be that good.

you also forgot bonk. adding risto and bonk and subtracting ginning and juulson will give the flyers a top 10 cup contending defense.

They already have a Top 10 team defense.

I must say that will be an impressive feet. The team has “bought” what coach tocchet is selling. You can see it in their play. Hopefully the GM is able to identify the weak spots and add some reinforcements via trader. This group deserves at least that much as they are not hat far off.

Risto will be a reinforcement on D. They’re fine up front.

did you miss the part where I said that?

    raise the 6 game banner.

It’ll be the October banner. They’ll hold a playoff spot on Nov 1. They have games in hand and winnable games vs. OTT and NYI.

flyers holding down a wildcard spot. go flyers. brick by brick.

What’s wrong with enjoying the moment? Six games in last year, they were 1-4-1, scored 13 goals and gave up 25.

This year, they’re 3-2-1, have scored 18 goals and given up 16. That’s a very encouraging upgrade. They are in a playoff spot right now and actually have a game in hand or two over the teams right behind them. Facts are you friends.

Seattle hasn’t lost in regulation yet. They’re playing with house money right now. They aren’t as desperate as MIN was Saturday. They’ve scored 3 more goals than the Flyers and given up the same number of goals in the same number of games but they are getting better bottom line in game results. Four of their five games have gone to OT. SEA also had the same points total last year at 76. No elite threats stand out for SEA, they’re pretty balanced. Top tier power play, below average penalty kill. Different kind of team that presents different kinds of matchups.
