The Petterson trade was a dumb one. With Smits Robertson Fortescue etc all waiting, just a dumb move.

Perrault is going to be a special player, Pronman just hates the Rangers.

Interesting I didn’t see Beaudoin in the top 100. So a 3rd round pick, prospect outside the top 100, and a dman that’s missed 70+ games last 2 seasons for Trocheck. Drury overplayed his hand.

I can’t stress this enough, Drury is a moron. Simple.

Jan, do you think the Dorofeyev trade was the right time to make a trade like that? Same goes for Petterrson?

SEA wanted either Wallinder (11th overall in 2023) or (Buium 12th overall in 2024) for Wright. VAN told them to kick rocks. I think Schneider 1 for 1 could be accepted by SEA but I guess it would depend how SEA views him. I wouldn’t feel comfortable adding anything though.

Trouba played well in ANA and just got signed to a $8+ million a year contract. He has value. The system was garbage and most of our D struggled with it.

Kakko was never given the chance. All other 1st and 2nd OA picks get PP time and ice time. We buried him on the 3rd line with no PP time and 10 minutes a game and then wondered why he never developed.

If we can do a Wright/Schneider type deal (getting back another young player) I’m ok with it. I’d prefer to keep him because I don’t think he’s as bad as most are making it seem, but he hasn’t been what we’ve been expecting after that rookie season. Unfortunately I think this is going to be another scenario where Drury has let the league know he doesn’t plan on keeping him and the return will be light.

By announcing to the entire league Panarin was gone no matter what, Drury diminished his value, same goes for Trocheck Kreider Kakko and Trouba.

The return for Trocheck should’ve been the prospect, a 1st and Durzi. Durzi has missed 70+ games the last 2 seasons due to injury. Far from a slam dunk. The prospect isn’t even a top 3 prospect in Utah’s system.

Trocheck is on one of the best contracts in the entire league and top 5 faceoff guy with a solid 2 way game that is one of the best on the PK. Drury failed yet again by showing his hand.

The Nemeth trade was a disaster. No one would ever say the 35th and 43rd pick is a good deal for dumping a contract DRURY signed the player to a year before.

I’ve seen numerous blogs, people talk about (maybe not on here bc there’s no one left on here) talk about recouping the pick down the road if it doesn’t work out for Petterson. You don’t trade future 1sts when you just finished bottom 3 in the league and dead last in the East.

The Doro trade wasn’t the right time. Same goes for Miller. This team needed a rebuild, not a retool and I’d much rather have Nesbitt in the system over JT Miller on the decline at 33 years old. I’m thinking long term, not fighting for a wild card spot this year and HOPING things work out. Drury put us in this mess and he’s compounded it and hurt the future of this team.

Nooo, see you’re twisting words. I’m not saying don’t get prospects. I’m saying the trades need to also involve a 1st round pick.

I also don’t care about the 26th pick we traded, it’s ok to trade picks, but Drury wastes picks and makes terrible decisions.

What would you rather right now, JT Miller or Jack Nesbitt?

Trading a 1st round pick 4 years from now???? Last time we did that we gave up the 35th and 43rd picks in 2025 and 2026 for someone to take Nemeth. Bc I’m sure at the time of the trade the genius Drury thought we’d be cup contenders. It’s dumb to trade picks that’s far into the future, especially 1sts.

The argument that 4 years from now we’ll get a 1st back for Petterson? It’ll be to a playoff contender and end up 20+. Dumb argument.

The 2nd pair has a guy in Durzi who has missed 70+ games the last 2 seasons and a 30 year old Petterson that’s only here bc Sullivan likes him. (Who I’m also not a fan of).
