Same with the carlo one, didnt need to include a high end prospect.
Both moves could be disastrous for the leafs.yeah, just overpayments for bottom lineup players.
Leafs added Carlo and Laughton, Florida added Jones and Marchand. easy to see why one team is successfulTre is garbage. Dubas was pretty bad too. I’ve been saying this the whole time. The Leafs could’ve done so well with Matthews/Marner if they surrounded them properly. If they identified the culture issue early on instead of pretending they’ll change, or it’s not bad because the fans like him (Nylander) then the Leafs had crazy potential.

Leafs won 1 round big fucking deal, got demolished in gm 7.. not a chance this years team with marner is much better. and it would just be a mirage.
I disagree in that they’d still suck with their best player Marner. He set the tone for the team. He made Matthews successful. He bore the brunt of criticism so Nylander could go float around center ice looking for breakaway passes. He was everything to the team.
But Brad is an awful GM.
this is the 4th season in a row there they have trended down by a decent chunk in xgf, possession whatever you want to look at. Marner was there for 3 of them
Tre has chipped around the edges to try and make the team bigger and tougher to play against..but they are just slower and worse.Because they lost their best player over the summer.

they didnt have great numbers last season either, the goalies really masked a lot.
losing a top line player doesnt help, but even with him they would be bad still. things have been sliding for a few seasons, steadily getting worse with each move Brad makes.I wasnt a fan of the GM tre move. he needs to go
Unfortunately even if they try to bail on season (which they wont), they will still fail and finish with their pick in the 6- 14 range
I think at this point they can easily do it.

I could tucker getting 10 years but I dont see Bo getting 10. I think 7 x 27m is pretty accurate.
Bo’s fielding is pretty average and the Jays could easily replace it.
I think its either tucker or Bo plus a quality SP and Bassitt as RP

Id be fine with signing Tucker and trading for ketel marte depending on cost.I just dont ever want to see Santander play the field again.
Santander should bounce back, the thing with him is hes a free 30hr bat they didnt even need to get to the WS. him in the field is tough to watch, but we have been spoiled with the Jays great D.
assuming hes healthy, I think he has a good season.
