Congratulations to the Marlies. Heading off to the Calder Cup. Watched that game and they worked their asses off to get to the finals. I liked Danford’s game tonight. He was solid.
Again, this team needs to rebuild. Promote John Gruden, give a few of the Marlies a chance next year and tear it down.

The series isn’t over yet. Carolina is still a great team who plays a relentless style of hockey. Just like how they came back in games, they can come back in the series.
Marner doesn’t have to win the Cup or the Conn Smythe to prove the Leafs fucked up hard because he’s already proven it. He’s done everything a great player needs to do on a winning team. He could be playing for Carolina right now and they’d be in the same boat. In fact, they were smart enough to try to acquire Marner and given how things have gone, they were absolutely vindicated in trying to do so. Funny that the two teams that wanted Marner the most are both in the Cup Final. It’s as if they know how to build a winner and the Leafs are completely retarded on the matter.
The reality is, the Leafs did not facilitate the environment to create a winner on the ice. And off the ice, when they failed, instead of being accountable, they shifted the blame to scapegoats who they promptly ran out of town. You look at Vegas and they have Eichel while the Leafs have Matthews. Both strong, two-way players who are offensively dangerous. But where they differ is how they construct their team throughout the line-up. The Leafs thought Nylander would help them win. Who does Vegas have instead? Karlsson. Not flashy, not offensively overpowering but smart, two-way player. The Leafs have Tavares, Vegas have Stone. Again, Tavares, on paper, scores more points. But Stone knows how to play two-way playoff hockey. The Leafs have Rielly. Vegas has Theodore. You go down the list and it just becomes clear that the Leafs had absolutely no idea how to build a team. They had strong individuals but as the years went on, they traded all their scapegoats (Kadri, Hyman, Marner) until they were left with a dysfunctional lottery team.
And also coaching. The Leafs had multiple opportunities to hire a guy like Torts, instead, they went with a rookie head coach in Keefe. When that rookie failed, they acquired a mediocre coach who won a Cup with an ultra defensive, hard nosed roster and gave him zero defensive, hard nosed players. Just the same way they were inept at keeping the correct players, they also picked the wrong coaches and the wrong GMs. The highest decision makers are constantly making bad decisions in selecting the decision makers. Rinse. Repeat. And the fans? Sold out, every game, clapping like seals.
Marner is playing very well as a 2nd line player without as much pressure. You must be happy there is a 2 day break. Your dick must be getting raw from fapping non stop. I really hope Leafs do not draft McKenna. Last thing this site needs is another topic for you to write hundreds of paragraphs about. It’s amazing watching Jacob Misiorowski throw. And that’s what he does, he throws. All gas.
He obviously wants to be a fireball starter because that’s where the big money will be for his career but one has to wonder how many times he can throw 100+ mph pitches before something snaps. He’s a big boy and I’m sure they’re attentive to his mechanics but if he wanted to be a closer, he could pitch 20 years and probably break every closer record ever recorded with a fraction of the strain on his arm.
