ParticipantSo is the addition of Marner and the subtraction of Peterangelo/Hague a wash?
Yeah the offence will get a boost but the Def is much worse.
Vegas getting old.. Not great depth up front or on D
Their D is still solid. Rasmus Andersson is next for Vegas anyway.

ParticipantBoeser staying with the canucks 7 x $7.5m.
Well.
He fucking sucks. Dodged a big bullet.
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantWho dafuq is Pazzetta?!?!?!
An AHLer who hits everybody and is from Toronto so now he’s a hero.
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantLeafs need to target Boeser, to replace the Marner offense. Also move on from Kampf, Robertson & McMann.
Boeser absolutely sucks. And he’s going to Minnesota anyway. You really need to stop advocating for a guy who was -25 with 25 goals coming to the Leafs on some giant contract.
Mangiapane is talking to the Bruins after having a career worst season.
The Leafs aren’t getting anybody of substance via the UFA market. Everybody good is either gone, going somewhere else while the rest suck balls or are going to get massively overpaid.
The Leafs are fucked.

ParticipantI do think Macelli makes Domi the odd man out.
That would be incredibly stupid. Domi actually has played an NHL playoff game in his life. And played well at times.
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantSo what, if anything, do the Leafs do tomorrow?!?
Trade everyone. Start rebuilding now.

ParticipantOntario has a good tax rate for millionaires.
Marner just cant handle Toronto.
Hes a little bitch.Wrong. Literally the worst in the NHL, except NYR but most of those guys get around it by living in Jersey anyway.
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantNo word on the MM return, eh?
BobMac said Roy 1 for 1.

They could become tired. Complacent. Injured. Bob is 37. If the Leafs made the right choices, they could take advantage of all those factors.Yes, they had the golden opportunity in game three and chance to win the series, but they blown it.
Replace Tavares with Jenner and McBain. Replace Rielly with Myers. That’s a better DNA change than this bullshit they’re trying to pull now.

ParticipantWell if Florida could play better, so could the Leafs. It goes both ways. The Leafs won the first two games because they played confident and executed on the PP.
This team is taking a huge step back and won’t have what it takes to take steps forward. UFAs won’t save them. They never have before, they probably never will.I remember the first two games, Bob let in all pucks were directed to net.
The Leafs could play better in game 5 and 7, but I doubt result would be different.
The next year the gap between these two team will be get even bigger, I agree with this.
For Leafs it is not enough to get better, but they need Florida become worse, which may not happen to my sorry. They set a record for most games played in a 3 year span.

ParticipantMarner isn’t the solution, he’s been part of the problem.
You’re very, very wrong about that. Involved in all 3 GWG vs Florida and defensively held the 1st line in check. That’s a fact.
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantYes, that is precisely what /s means.
But to answer your question, the Oilers made it to back to back Cup Finals because they’re in the shittiest division in the shittiest conference in the league. They also have two of the most clutch players in history, so he could bring that to Toronto and drag us there too.
Hard to go deep in the playoffs when you’re in a division with literal dynasties like Tampa and Florida. Our burden to bear.
Vegas and LA in that division is not that weak of a division.
Pretty sure if one had to bet, it’s that McDavid is tired of carrying the entire team on his back. If he leaves the Oilers, Vegas makes a lot of sense and he won’t have to do EVERYTHING by himself. He had great chemistry on that OT winner for Canada with Marner.

ParticipantIf they played better defense in Game 3 (which is what you get if you remove Tavares and Rielly and replace them with two-way 2C and 3C) they can win that game and the series.
They won 3 games. No matter how you want to describe it, they were closer than anybody else. And now they just blew it away.Yes, I can agree with this, but if Florida played better in the first two games the result can be different either.
There is a huge difference between to take team to game 7 and win the series, but Leafs had the chance in game 3 and they blew it.
It is possible they could win the whole series if it did not happen, but not guaranteed of course, knowing how Florida playing in elimination games.Well if Florida could play better, so could the Leafs. ParticipantWe all knew, (except for you), that this year was going to be a step back while we wait for 97 to arrive July 1, 2026.
Edit: this is a /s
You must be joking, right? You think McDavid is going to leave a team he went to the Cup Final TWICE with to join this shit show of a team?
Better yet, why would he come to Toronto when he could also go to Vegas?
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantSo no change.
Besides, next year has a better FA class.
Panthers will still have to dump salaryYes, because the UFA class has always won the Leafs Cups in the past.
You simply do not learn. Ever.
They can dump Rodrigues. They’ll be fine.
