ParticipantBo might only be a 1 year deal with NYM.
Makes sense for Bellinger to go back to NYY, he is suited for their silly stadium.
I really wish the Jays got/would get Mason Miller ..would be so fun to watch 104mph
I really wish the Jays got/would get Ohtani but I was told we don’t need him.

ParticipantOn the road to nowhere. Time to sell. But because that’s the thing a prudent management would do, of course they won’t.
As I predicted more than a week ago, the Leafs will find a way to go .500 over their stretch before the Olympics and the BeLeafers will take that to mean that they are SO BACK in the race as wild card pretenders.

ParticipantAnd cowan is younger, so keep him.
You cowardly incel….wannabe american trash
So can’t trade Cowan for McDavid because he’s 21 and McDavid is 29?
You are an absolutely libtarded cuck.

Participantfucking treleaving traded Minton (13g-12a-25p +15) and that 1st for Carlo
so leafy
Leafs have been losing out to the Bruins since Bobby Orr.
Should be an outright ban for this franchise to ever make trades with Boston.

ParticipantI think that this team as it sits is unfixable and needs major surgery. Looking at how many top end teams handle the Leafs, they aren’t winning anything this year. Better to divest for draft picks and retool through free agency. Just need to get in the bottom 5 in the draft and move those lost picks 1 year forward. Just let it crash and be done with it. See if Pelly has the guts to completely gut this team and bring in a whole new management team, or is it just more lip service. Empty seats will speak his language.
Can the Leafs get trans surgery and just identify as Cup champions?

Participantnice Domi breaks the shutout with a pp goal
boo yeah
Needed that PP goal when the Leafs were down 4-3 to Vegas with 7 minutes left in the 3rd period but they were too busy getting 0 shots on net.
That Steve Sullivan PP (33% input) is pooowwwwwwerrrful!

ParticipantI believe not any coach can succeed with this group of players. Some will do better, but not nearly good enough.
I mostly agree because Berube’s success came with a team that had a top-4 D that included Parayko, Pietroangelo, Bouwmeester and Dunn. Four balanced, 23+ minute per night guys. Then the bottom two guys were Gunnarsson, Edmundson and Bortuzzo on limited minutes. That’s far cry from having to deploy Rielly for 23+ minutes a night.
This collection of players does not suit Berube. With Marner, he had a reliable shut-down, Selke nominated winger who could shut down a line like Barkov. Without Marner, the Leafs top line is way worse defensively, which forces Matthews to play more defensively and also forces him to carry the puck more offensively. That has hurt Matthews a lot at both ends of the ice.
If this group of guys had a coach that let them play an all out attack and could organize the PP better, they would win more games 5-4 but ultimately lose in the playoffs, like they did under Keefe. The only way that style wins is if they have an elite world class goalie, kind of like how Vasilevskiy back stops the Tampa Bay Lightning. But the Leafs have two often injured back-ups so it doesn’t work.

ParticipantThe Leafs can play like this for another 60 minutes without scoring a single goal.
With a PP for 60 minutes and they still might not score a goal or win this game.
Steve Sullivan that PP genius…

ParticipantIs/will McMann be woth $5M cap hit on the open market?
wow!
I sometimes get the feeling, when he’s playing at his best, that he could be one of those ones that got away if the Leafs let him go but logically, the Leafs should sell high on him to rebuild.
He’s going to be 30, he’s 6’2″, 220 and is basically a 20 goal, 40 point guy. Considering this is a contract year, if he was going to “break out” it should / would have been this year. But he’s the same.
Then again, Hyman, at 31-33, had his 27-36-54 goal seasons. If the Leafs don’t sign McMann for 5 million, do they spend that 5 million on anybody better? Probably not.
