yes its me 2050Participantwhere are you coming up with 27? where are the 3 teams with 3 wingers with 27 goals coming from?
how can zegras improve on his faceoffs?
94 goals in 288 games over the last 4 seasons. 94 divided by 288 is .326 multiplied by 82 is 27. Simple math. Which teams have three wingers who have put pucks in the net at that pace? I’ll give you a head start: Dallas does. They have Robertson, Rantanen and Hintz. Who else does?
The word around in the summer was Zegras needs to cheat better. Sometimes wingers need to jump in and grab pucks to cement a faceoff win. Flyers don’t stand out at that.
Not including this season.
More accurate numbers would be the number of goals he has scored the last 3 years which is 75/ 232 – number of games he has played. That gives you .3232.
Then take the average number of games he has played over the 3 seasons which is 77.33.
77.33 * .3232= 25 goals per year.
Either way use whatever numbers you want. Love pace. Am I to assume Tippet is an elite level winger?
what 3 wingers do the flyers have that have averaged 27 goals (your number) a year over that time frame?
/********************/
You get better in faceoffs by taking them, no? Cement head tocchet does not see him as a center and will not play as such. That is pretty evident at least this season.
yes its me 2050Participantno one with the exception of possibly MM is part of the solution.
Nonsensical.
let’s assume they are contending in 5 years. who will still be here that is part of the core “solution”
yes its me 2050Participanttippet is underwhelming. solid depth piece. he is what he is and no more untapped potential. he has 28, 27, and 20 goals each the last 3 seasons. 19 this year.
zegras was back on the wing last night. the coach has no long-term vision, he is dope. he will end up a winger on this team
Again you fail to appreciate averaging 27 goals per 82 over 4 seasons puts Tippett in limited company. Please list the teams that have three wingers that can all match or top that number.
Zegras needs to get better at the dot. FWIW, Shane Wright has a comparably bad faceoff percentage.

yes its me 2050Participantyou said a lot of dumb shit. like brink will be fighting for a roster spot.
Nobody stepped up enough to take it from him. Bump was not as advertised and Grebenkin won himself a 4th line role. To be the man you’ve got to beat the man. Brink is still not part of the solution. Martone will fix that.
no one with the exception of possibly MM is part of the solution.
yes its me 2050ParticipantWTF is tippet delivering? he is an underwhelming 20 something goal scorer. A solid depth piece. nothing more. certainly not a core player.
Briere is too scared to ask tK to waive and also has no interest in moving him. Briere is a putz. TK can help any team and one has to hope him and his BFF ask out. I doubt it as both are comfortable as hell in the current situation.
Hate to break the news to you but 27 goals per 82 games is not underwhelming. That’s a top 6 winger for just about any team in the league. Plus he’s proven to be durable. Of course, that doesn’t matter.
Either way they have a log jam in center. Assuming they resign Zegras and plan to use him as a center, he will get a NMC because Flyers. That leaves you with 3 C with NMC for the next 3 years (Dvorak, Coots, Zegras). That doesn’t include Cates who is on a 4 year extension. What do you do with the existing centers, most of which are unmovable? The Flyers already have too many middle six wingers for next year. Unless Wright ends up being a #1 center you are worse off than before with 5 centers who aren’t the answer and no place to put another if you can find one.
Zegras has to crack his issue with winning faceoffs. He’s flipping back to center sooner or later and that fills one of the two top scoring center needs. Somebody else can always flip to wing.

yes its me 2050Participantbrink is the only one I see not being on this team next season. draft or deadline trade.
What was I saying as soon as this board opened?
you said a lot of dumb shit. like brink will be fighting for a roster spot.
yes its me 2050Participantthe state of the team is the same since wharton certificate boy took over, and even before.
They are not a good team. They have no plan to become a good team. They have no path towards cup contention.
As far as Thomas, he will not waive to come to Philly. There will be many suitors for his services. He would have zero reason to come to philly.
Anyone who has faith in wharton boy or “jonesy” needs their head examined. Fact is its very bleak. nothing has changed
crazy thing is they are still very much in the playoff race. couple games out.
Blame Bettman and the OT point rules. It is hard to be out of the playoff race at this point in the year unless you are committed to the tank.
I still can’t believe they’ve only scored 2 goals in 18 OT periods. That may be a record and yesterday’s OT was incredibly bad. Maybe they should try something different, like Michkov.I can when you play dvorak and cates
yes its me 2050Participantcrazy thing is they are still very much in the playoff race. couple games out.
It is crazy they’re still in the race, a very long shot now, after going 3-8-4 in their last 15 games since the ANA game. They were 22-12-7 the first half of the season.
Seeing talk from Canadian media that Konecny and Tippett could go with the right return. Konecny is a .95 PPG player over the last 4 seasons and is proved durable. Tippett is big, can skate, averages 27 goals per 82 games over the same 4 seasons and is more durable than Konecny. The Flyers need more size up front, not less. People gripe about the lack of production from the center spots. They aren’t wrong but these two guys are delivering without it. Package better be extraordinary. Need a proven #1/2 C or a Top 4 Dman to consider it.

yes its me 2050ParticipantFor 58 minutes, the story wrote itself.
Nick Cousins, former Flyers draft pick and Stanley Cup winner beats Vladar on a defensive mixup involving Juulsen for the game winning goal. Will Juulsen be to valuable to the PK, with 6 SECONDS IN LAST 4 GAMES, to sit after the olympic break? Tocchet says he’d like to get Andrae some time after sitting for over a month but the PK is to important.
While they tied it up with the goalie pulled the Sens quickly ended the game once overtime started. Once again the Flyers skaters were vastly outplayed and only Vladar kept them in it.
I hope to hell Danny sells at the TDL but he won’t because he’s still looking towards making the playoffs next season rather than rebuilding. Same goal as this season.
lost in all this is danny boy loves this roster. he thinks they are not far away. there is next to no hope for anything in the next 5 years
brink is the only one I see not being on this team next season. draft or deadline trade.
yes its me 2050ParticipantAgain with size over skill.
The Flyers are noticeably small on the ice. Not everybody, but their smaller guys are noticeably small and don’t have elite skills. If they did, they would be playing.
juulson has zero skill
yes its me 2050ParticipantThe Kings got Panarin for a prospect + a conditional third and signed him for $11M for two years.
Panarin would only waive for the Kings. It was the only place he was willing to be traded to and gave them a sweetheart extension deal. The Flyers were never in.
Why would Panerin want to play for the Flyers? He wouldn’t so more like Panerin was never in on the flyers.
no elite level players will be choosing to come to this team. love the tocchet will attract plyers propaganda
This team is garbage. How you can’t see this beyond me. Some decent depth pieces. Brutal coach.
imagine thinking having dvorak lead the forward in ice time on a consistent basis and playing risto 20 a night is going to get this team anywhere. Committing 6 years to dvorak reaks of incompetence.
Would love to know what rock bottom for this franchise is. Hopefully Martone pulls a cutter.
yes its me 2050ParticipantFlyer frank you really are a bozo. A dumb fuck.
Wow they have a better win % than last year. Get back to me when the season is over. Then compare
Wow they are in the playoff race. As is every team except the Rangers. What a high bar. They were in playoff “race” last year. This team is no different than when the putz took over.
Same cliched BS that is 100% correct. That upsets you as it shows how much of an uneducated flyers fan you show on a daily basis.
Are the flyers on the path to cup contention?
yes its me 2050Participant
yes its me 2050Participantgo flyers. brick by brick.
they wouldn’t be able to get all that in 10 offseasons. When will you admit this is a poorly run incompetent franchise.
The improvement over last year’s team is still notable. Last year: .463 win pct. This year: .545. The areas where they can and must improve, aside from the obvious need for a reliable #2 goalie, is physical size and mental toughness. They look small out there against too many other teams. Even their bigger guys are about the same size as their opponents, which is OK. Too many smaller guys. That Anaheim game was the tell. They won that battle but lost the war when they saw two of their guys get knocked out. They were playing .622 hockey and then the bottom fell out. That’s where the slump started. They’re 3-3-2 in their last 8. Not good enough to gain ground in any race. Hopefully, they can win Thursday vs. Ottawa and come back and play close to their full potential, which I still think is .600 hockey.
the flyers love blind fans like you. you are the target market.
even stevie wonder can see this team isnt very good and the franchise is poorly run.
shit you probably think tocchet is doing a good job
