They say it’s between Buium and Parekh, as I’ve said before whatever points a defenseman can provide is a bonus in my eyes. When all said and done i think Arty will be the best two way defenseman of all of them in this draft calls you can’t teach size and explosive first steps in every direction.

Like Rinzel he may be the best defenseman from that draft calls, another big dman with great skating ability.

That’s what i like to hear, fiercely competitive. 4 years running its been a KD trademark to draft kids who can skate and compete.

That’s pretty wild how everyone assumed Rinzel would take longer to develop than Korchinski? It goes to show it pays to be aggressive in the draft and get as many top 100 picks in each draft year that you can. You think Toronto would love to have Rinzel in the line up this year and going forward.

The post that disappeared on me was about Arty. I was reading the bleacher Nation article and they were talking about Arty.

The supposed pro analysts give KD and Co, a bunch of crap for not drafting Demidov. I don’t know about you guys but watching a 210 pound plus kid with his ability to skate in all directions so quickly and the other tools, if he understands time and space and when to pinch down he will be a stud.

The 1st pick of the draft this year looks like a stick figure next to Arty. Guys like Arty are very very rare.

I would not sign Knight early, goalies are a fickle group. I would just let the season play out and see how he handles himself over the course of the year.

I actually believe Knight is better than Wolf but most likely won’t be statistically for a couple more years until the defense around him gets better with more experience.

It’s not letting me quote you, Dots…. Oh for sure, a place with proper software and format is really appreciated but you add a blogger with a multi layered background with a good hockey mind and can write you’ve found the penthouse.

    Where’s Chunk, Dots?

Don’t know maybe him and Paul are stuck in the interweb.

Still really slow in this forum. I was hoping it’d be a couple pages per day like HB still was even a few weeks ago.

These things take time, Assman. A new forum and this is the absolute slowest time for NHL chatter and message board participation.. Things start to get fun this weekend though with Hawk prospects at the Kurvers tournament. Can’t wait. ……… But, IMO it’s all about the blogger and man, Frenchy seems to be the goods. These kind of excellent hockey minds get found and attract people.

    It’ll grow.

Honestly it’s just nice to have someone cover the Blackhawks

Another problem that they are working on is his stick had so much flex half the time his blade would hop over the puck on a one timer. The way i understand it, they made his stick shorter so he can become more consistent with that particular shot.

He missed out on a ton of one timer chances last season. So with the Blackhawks working with him on his stick and Nazar working on his breakaways moves they should combine for at least 10 extra goals next season.

I also find it kind of funny these so called pro analysts are ranking Celebrini over Bedard now? Celebrini is a very good player but I’d love to see Celebrini succeed like Bedard did with Kurashev on his wing.

Btw that slump you mention he admitted he kind of ran out of gas just like Vlasic did and talked about not grinding so hard next season that he needs to find other outlets so he doesn’t get burnt out again.

It’s really neat getting this much media exposure now with the players willingness to be more open about things, you kind of get to grow with these players.

I saved my post this time, hahaha

I know there’s a lot of love out there for the Habs but i have to admit I’m really curious to see how they do this year. The east looks like it’s getting weaker every year.

Do the Caps all of a sudden look like the Bruins this year? Bolts, Rangers, Pens players all getting AARP cards in the mail. Seems to me some teams are going to be better because their own division is getting worse.

I always find this to be an interesting debate. I’d be incline to agree with anyone if the Blackhawks were not doing anything to bring in more talent into the organization.

The orgs you mention did not dedicate themselves to an aggressive rebuild like the Blackhawks, not even close.

Imagine the year McDavid was drafted and the Oilers went this route, but instead of McD its happening with Bedard.

I appreciate Chris opinion but what Bedard needs more than anything is another line that’s a threat to score.

I know things can change but all signs point to USHL after the football season then MSU hockey next year.

I don’t think it’ll be an issue, he sounds like he’s a team player saying he’s doing this for his teammates to win a state title.

That to me is a staple of hockey players, team first.

Nice breakdown, i would also like to add, i felt that Sorensen opened things up when he became the head coach that’s why the rise of GA. Personally i felt Jones was only going through the motions with this team.

The encouraging thing for me last year was we had actual puck possession in the offensive zone for long stretches but not able to score goals by wearing teams out.

I think that’ll come next, i just think of all the misses by Nazar on his breakaway attempts and laugh when he said that was definitely something he’s going to be working on this summer. If he scored on half of them he’d of had 6 or 7 more goals last season.

I’m definitely a fan of more speed, so my guess is Burak will fit right in, when you look at all be it young team i believe we’ll be even harder to play against because of the increased team speed.

I do think they need to have 2 different prospect rankings

    NHL ready prospect rankings
    Nazar and Rinzel

Top talent rankings, when they begin to reach their prime at about 24 years old

Arty, Frondell, Moore, West, Lardis, Kansternov, Korchinski and so on.

Just think in the past 4 years the Blackhawks have drafted 15 kids in the top 40!!!!

Hard for any team to compete with that and i think when it’s all said and done Frondell will be the prize of that draft.

I don’t know what the record of the Blackhawks will be but I’m excited about this season, it sucked when we traded Cat, Hagel, Kane, and had to watch a bunch of scrubs.

Bedard was exciting to watch and to see Vlasic grow into a solid defenseman.

But we are finally in a spot where i can enjoy watching both the Blackhawks and the ice hogs.

I believe one of the things i mentioned that wasn’t posted was what i really like about the rebuild is the depth, if one of Korchinski, Arty or Rinzel don’t work out that’s fine but what does a team like SJ do if Dickinson doesn’t become the guy many think he will? They have to hope a 26 year old Dobson is available for tradeb and have to pay him.

Habs had to give up 2 first round picks which will affect future depth for them.

I’m hoping to one day see a PP of Bedard, Nazar, Lardis, Frondell, and Arty or Rinzel. They all can shoot and are good at handling the puck.
