Willie and Marners 5v5 stats were almost the same
on ice goals 11-8 and 10-8 in almost the same 200mins in the playoffs.

pretty much every other stats are very similar.

If there was any good UFA C, I’d say yeah but there isn’t. He isn’t signed yet by the Leafs so he may go to market.
I think he’ll be offered a 3 year deal with a cap hit of 7.5M by NJD if not signed by the Leafs.
That’s a big hole to fill at #2C.

Leafs don’t have that much trade capital, so its going to be interesting these next few weeks.

To match the money, Leafs would need to go 5x 4.5m or 4x 5.6m

Not sold on McMann. Should be traded for assets. The Marner money should get you two top 6 wingers. Boeser and Ehlers? Shoring up the 3rd pairing on RD is also important. Whatever they can get in exchange for Rielly, they should do so.

I dont think Boeser and Ehlers solve the playoff problem. Ehlers is good, but more of another Nylander type.

the leafs have had a 1st round pick in 7 of the last 10 drafts. And the 3 they didn’t, these were the 3 first picks Robertson, Knies and Minton.

The leafs drafting is average and probably a little better than the average team.

I dont get the feeling better because the leafs took the panthers to 7 games, it didnt feel like a close series, Leafs got crushed a lot of the time (like every other team the panthers played).
10 years is enough to see major issues and big changes needed.

Just value projections. not what they will get, some will get overpaid. some wont..

Tavares is worth 5 no problem, the difference between him and Marner is that one will cost 14 and provide 13 mil value and one will cost 5.5 and provide 8 mil value

Nobody is running Marner out of town, hes a big boy, he can make his own decisions.he is running his own ass out of town
