ParticipantYeah, going to retire soon. Tried twice before. The inflation nonsense pushed me back into the workforce. Just waiting on the Trump Economy to boost the investments before finally giving it up. I’ll talk to my investment agent and see if it’s smart to turn my Canadian Dollars into U.S. Dollars. Just waiting for the great U.S. devaluation that is part of the Trump economic plan. Use tariffs to bring outside industries back to America, then devalue the currency and make the U.S. products cheaper to export. It’ll take about a 1% interest rate drop to make it happen. The U.S. is fighting to stay the World’s Fiat currency, against the BRICS Nations. The only way he can do it, is make it cheaper for their products and commodities to be sold to other Nations. Canada is finished. The West will be gone in a couple of years and the rest of the provinces will follow.
I pray that you find your father well.
this whole post if quite something to read, I dont know how anyone can believe that donkey will do anything good for 99% of the people. tariffs just another way to rob people and shift all the money to the rich pockets.

Sources: The #NHL and #NHLPA have agreed to a rolling implementation schedule for CBA changes.Among them: the new playoff salary cap system will come into effect *this season* for the 2026 Stanley Cup playoffs.
League must have got wind the Leafs were set to take advantage of it..so need to put a stop to it now

ParticipantBut, not really cap hell if they are trading the contract away and getting out from under it.
Hoping it cost them a pretty penny. Its prob a very good add for a team that doesnt want to spend to the cap. gets 10 on the cap, and looks like only 2 mil salary.
they prob get something back for him

ParticipantHe used to be a Leaf. Now he’s not a Leaf. Don’t care what he says
yeah who cares. Marner just seems very tone deaf. just comes off as playing victim all the time.
senstrolltwo
ParticipantNope, just Carney’s daily routine.
Just came back from the States, near Cornwall. Pretty much devoid of Canadians going stateside. I’ve been across a couple of other Canadian/U.S. border crossings recently, and the same thing. It’s a great time to go stateside. Hotels are cheap, because there’s no Canadian’s staying and restaurants are not busy. Some decent deals to be had and I don’t have to look at the Elbows Up clowns that seem to be everywhere in Woke City Canada, Kingston. I’m just glad that Hockey is soon becoming relevant once again. Blue Jays are trending into collapse mode with the Jordan Romano disease being spread around in the bullpen. Let’s go Bills!
Sounds like just the place for you. Id say move to the US.

ParticipantElbows down, knee pads on.
whats going on here.. you posting your weekend plans again?
senstrolltwo
Participantprojections so far has Leafs at around 100 points.
which would be their lowest total since 19-20 season (adjusted /82 games).
Going to be an interesting season for Narratives.also. fucking stupid tariff nonsense killing any shipping to the US..what a mess
senstrolltwo
Participantshould be interesting this weekend with Milwaukee in town
let’s see how the Jays match up against them.for sure, Love how they lined up the pitching. Beibs, Gaus, MAx
Did Lauer just pitch is way out of the starting lineup? rough night for him
senstrolltwo
Participantwin 2/3 over Minny, fine Ill take it.
Big series now, Top 2 teams. Go Jays!
senstrolltwo
ParticipantConnor McDavid is in no hurry to sign an extension with the Oilers, and he’s comfortable entering the season without a new deal.
cuz he wants to be a maple leef
senstrolltwo
Participantoverall decent results from the weekend. Still 5 games up thanks for Boston.
Sweep the 3 against minny, then its Milwaukee for a tough series. all games at home, so thats goodadding this
MGR John Schneider has alerted his 6 Blue Jays starters as a group to be ready for creative twists to a 5-man rotation. With Lauer now Wed. would allow trio vs. Brewers of Bieber, Gausman, Scherzer, with the same 3some at Yankees Sept. 5-7. Extra rest one time would help Berrios
senstrolltwo
ParticipantNot even in the slightest, there will always be some idiot willing to part with a car payment to watch the Leafs.
I would gladly pay what I pay for car payments for Leaf tickets.
which is zeromaybe also why iv never seen a leafs game in Toronto
senstrolltwo
ParticipantThe Beibs getting the start Friday. Would be huge if he can be a legit starter the rest of the way. Max is starting to heat up also.
SP has been a weak spot.Lauer out of the Pen for now.

ParticipantOoooh, I just noticed that when you log in now, it returns you to the previous page/forum you were on, rather than kicking out out to the main HHS page. That was something that annoyed the crap out of me.
The new HB looks slick, but is annoying AF to navigate and follow comments. They gotta get the quote function fixed here, (aka a reply doesn’t include ALL the related comments), but I think this place is a lot closer to being the new place for hockey talk.
I just delete the other attached replies, and leave the one im responding to. its an extra step, but can live with it for now

ParticipantNice win for the Jays. Vladdy Clutch
