ParticipantJesus there is some grade A horseshit in here today.
And it’s coming directly from your retarded, shit spewing mind.
Marner who did jack shit in the late games in the series – again.
What exactly did Nylander, Tavares, Rielly and Carlo do in the “late” games in the Florida series? Oh right, sweet fuck all except be defensive liabilities.
What did Matthews do? Oh right, he scored one solitary GWG in Game 6 with Marner providing the primary assist. Better than what the rest gave them which was actually nothing.
If a team isn’t “good enough” then getting rid of one of your best players (with no replacement) while making your other best player worse (no more elite playmaker to feed him the puck) is a sure fire way to end up as 9th placed wild card pretenders.
Retard.
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantMarner wins again. Even with Vegas on a back to back and on home ice, the Leafs found a way to not show up at all.
To all the booing retards, you deserve all the bad luck your franchise gets. You enable this incompetent franchise to profit off of failure.
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantNo dmntd I’m not. The people who go to games are predominantly people with a lot of cash looking for something to do or to be seen. They’ll get all liquored up on Chardonnay and boo Marner every time he touches the puck. Embarrassing.
The management of this franchise will always be the biggest reason for it’s failures. But the dumbest of the fans, of which there are a lot of, will always support and encourage that failure. This is a blatant example of it that the stupidest sheep fans won’t even realize.
Its not wrong.
It’s wrong as you are wrong more often than not.
You have to win 4 games…who cares if they won 3 or more than edmonton etc. That means nothing.
Again, retarded. It does matter. They did not win but they clearly showed they can hang with the best. They destroyed that.
Bringing back marner might have gotten them 2 more wins than they have now.
Wrong again retard, they’d be in 1st. The PP alone would propel them to 1st.
Marner did nothing for them in the playoffs, this has been proven over and over again (disappears when it counts)
Sorry retard, you’re wrong again. Marner has more career playoff points than Matthews, Nylander and Tavares. He had involvement in 3 GAME WINNING GOALS vs. Florida with two PRIMARY assists and one GAME WINNING GOAL.
Only a total retard like yourself could possibly believe that equates to doing “nothing” or “disappearing when it counts”. How many points did Tavares and Nylander have WHEN IT COUNTED vs. Florida? They had ZERO after Game 2. Z E R O. Literally NOTHING. Z E R O. Everything you say about Marner is literally a lie but true about the players they still have. Damn, it matches your retarded politics perfectly.
and dumping a $4.5m 0.86 ppg player in JT would not have improved this team.
Dumping a career loser like Tavares would have made this team better. He’s useless defensively and sucks dick in the playoffs his entire career. Now he’s 35 only contributing to the Leafs being the 3rd oldest team in the NHL.
Had they brought marner back at $13.5m/$14m, they’d have absolutely no depth (they’d have more crappy AHL’ers in the line up with all the recent injuries) and would have had no money in the off season to create an “improved” version of the team they had last year.
Another lie about “depth”. Maccelli, Roy and Joshua are dog shit. Depth has done nothing for this team except make them wild card pretenders.
Funny how those crappy AHLers play with heart and motivation when they get called up though. The “improvement” would have come from dumping the actual dogshit players like Rielly, Carlo and Tavares which would have easily created more cap space to sign that “depth” you beg so hard for.
That’s just stupid, quit living in a fantasy world, thats just stupid …..but expected from you.
As I have disproven your retarded claims it’s quiet easy to see you’re the stupid one here but I expect nothing less than pure retardation from you by now. Maybe by your next reply you will learn what a paragraph is.
7-9 years with marner….the leafs accomplished nothing. Marner isnt/wasnt the solution to this team…just another high priced soft player.
7-9 years of Tavares, Nylander and Matthews also accomplished nothing. But they’re super fantastic high priced soft players so they’re going to get the job done, right?
Anywho, for the leafs sake, they better squeak into the playoffs to avoid giving another quality prospect to boston.
The Leafs with Marner won the division and took Florida to Game 7 and now you’re just praying they make 8th just so Boston doesn’t get a quality prospect. Nothing you said made any sense but your last line revealed what you’re retarded brain can’t come to terms with and say openly; the Leafs royally fucked up and seeing how far they’ve fallen should make that obvious.
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantLeafs “fans” in the building are going to embarrass themselves tonight. I don’t blame Marner for getting out of town. Those fans should direct their ire at management.
Yes Marner bled every last dime he could from the Leafs, but they gave him that contract.
Absolutely, the “fans” will show exactly how retarded they are and how justified he was in leaving this retarded organization with some really retarded fans behind.
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantHonestly, this team hasnt been good enough for about 7 years now.
This is wrong. The Leafs were “good enough” last year to beat Florida 3 times. That’s more than Edmonton. That’s more than Carolina. That’s more than Tampa Bay.
They did not beat Florida but they got closer as anybody else did. With the injuries the Panthers have had this year, they are not the same threat this year. Had the Leafs brought back Marner and created an improved version of the team they had last year (dump Rielly, Tavares, among others) they would be the best team in the Atlantic.
The Leafs succeeded vs. Florida because of the contributions of Knies, Matthews and Marner. That line won them 3 games and kept the Barkov line in check defensively.
The players that lost them the series vs. Florida was Tavares, Nylander, Rielly and Carlo. They decided to destroy their 1st line and retain the players that lost them the series and here we are, a shit team because of it.
They really need a reboot (ala boston and so many others),
They need a full tear down, rebuild. They have a bad team but many top prized assets. They could be rebuilt for 2030 if they go full tilt sellers.
They’ll end up just outside the playoffs or squeak in just to lose in 5. Either way whatever.
Correct.
Tre/dubas has really screwed this franchise over. Waisting 1st round picks last deadline will set this team back for a while.
King fuck up #1 is Shanahan who hired both Dubas and Treliving. Dubas compromised this team but what Treliving did to the team was destroy it. He let Marner walk. He continued to build around Tavares (career loser), Rielly (defensively worthless), Nylander (defensively worthless and offensively disappeared vs. Florida) and brought in random 3rd and 4th line plugs like Maccelli, Joshua and Roy. He threw away two 1st round picks and Minten for Carlo (terrible vs. Florida) and Laughton (not terrible but not worth a 1st). Now they have no future, no assets to trade and the 3rd oldest team in the NHL that has got them all the way to 9th place.
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantThis team is not going to make the playoffs by desperately hanging on for loser points. Problem is they probably aren’t good enough to take the game to the teams above them in the standings on a consistent basis.
They need to win 7 out of 10 games for the rest of the year.
It won’t happen. Too many road games, too many difficult opponents, too many other teams fighting for points and this team isn’t built well or healthy enough to withstand the pressure.
Leafs have the chance to boo Marner on home ice after they play a back to back. Should be an easy win. Will it be?
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantSO BACK to wild card pretenders.
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantCody Bellinger back to the Yanks, 5yr/$162.5M.
Jays are out of options for a big move,
but there are still some options out there to improve.
Not really.
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantI’m not sure the exact broadcaster conversation you’re referencing, but the real talking point is next year when Hildebeast is no longer waiver exempt. Do you pull the trigger now on a tendie trade when you’ll get a better return, or do you wait to see how things shake down over the next few months and make a trade in the offseason or next year when other teams know you HAVE to make a trade.
Whatever happens, I know some people will complain either way.
It makes absolutely no sense to trade any goalies right now. Woll and Stolarz are both frequently on the LTIR and Hildeby is still waive exempt.
Stolarz, with his injury, poor numbers and contract, is worth next to nothing. Woll is their most valuable goalie so why trade him unless you want to tank? And Hildeby is worth next to nothing right now given how few games he’s played with mixed results over the span of his NHL career.
Best move is to get Stolarz back into action, hope he improves his value and then jettison his contract when he’s improved his value.
Unholy_Goalie
ParticipantI think a team would claim him.
https://puckpedia.com/waivers-tracker/dennis-hildeby
It’s going to be difficult to make a claim when he is waiver exempt.
