If he signs with the dodgers or mets, it will be short term but a higher aav with opt outs.I think the Jays miss out on both.

Spotrac has his value at 23 million per year so it’s not that far off but maybe they can talk him down a bit because they were so close to winning and how many friends he has on the team.
Tucker might be worth it on a short term deal that pays him big upfront while the Jays window is wide open. Spotrac has him at 39 million per year. If the Jays are willing to spend 39 more million, they might be better off with multiple players than just Tucker, especially because they still need a starting LHP and an elite closer.
If they can move Hoffman, Santander and Berrios for only prospects, that clears a lot of salary, about 35.5 million. I’d rather have Bo (plus another player) or Tucker for that 35.5 million than Santander, Berrios and Hoffman.

The rest of the schedule before the Olympic break is a mine field schedule.
Leafs play Colorado, Utah (back to back), Vegas (3 games in 4 nights) then Winnipeg, all on the road. Leafs suck on the road.
Then 5 games at home, Minnesota, Detroit, Vegas, Colorado then Buffalo.
Followed by 4 more road games, Seattle, Vanpoover, Calgary and Edmonton (back to back and 3 games in 4 nights). More Leafs suckage on the road.
If they lose to Colorado x2, Vegas x2, Minnesota, Detroit (OTL) and Edmonton but beat Utah, Winnipeg, Buffalo, Seattle, Vanpoover and Calgary, they’re .500, 6-6-1.
That’s probably where they land, right where they are now.
Been a great 24 hours. Leafs win with a shutout, Bills win, Eagles out, If the Chargers find a way to win, then the Bills still could avoid the Broncos and play either the Steelers, or Texans. Mondays game against the Avs should be a barometer on where this Leafs team is. Leafs must get points in the next 3 games to look legit. Leafs should shop Stolarz to either get a first rounder or a 2nd line winger. The defense is fine how it is. A good mix on the back end, sans Rielly.
Any team can beat another team in a one off game, even the Leafs. The Avs look like an unstoppable force, they’re dynamite at home and the Leafs absolutely suck on the road. All logic suggests the Leafs lose 5-1. The problem with this Leafs team isn’t winning one game they should or shouldn’t win. The problem is the foundational pieces are not built for playoff hockey and they’re not a cohesive unit.
They will never get a 1st round pick for Stolarz. Nobody is trading that type of value away for a goalie who can’t play more than 20-30 games in a season without landing on the LTIR. The defense is built to expect the goalie to stand on his head (which is perhaps why their goalies are always getting hurt). It’s dogshit. The Leafs shots against and GAA are terrible. They look like they’re on the PK when it’s 5v5.
We have a Bears fan in the family (at least he is from, and live in, Chicago). He loves to trash talk, pretty much as bad as every Habs fan I know.
Now I get to watch my 49ers 2nd and 3rd stringers struggle against the Eagles, ugh.
