ParticipantAnother thing about posting here. You can’t reply to a comment that already has been replied to. For example – I wrote about this site using capwages. Then Mr. Richochet replied about Kaiser’s projected contract. I tried to reply to Rico, but it wouldn’t take. So I had to create a new comment. To reference Rico’s comment, I copied and pasted it, added the “@Mr. Ricochet” at the beginning, italicized it, then added my own response. See the previous post.

Participant@Mr. Ricochet – Oh, this is nice… But they have Kaiser listed as a projected 5.4 mil cap hit!! Hope that’s not what he’s holding out for……. Kid has 98 NHL games on some downright dog teams and he’s -4 in plus-minus. And the minus 4 was earned 3 yrs ago in just 9 games played as a rookie. He was even the last 2 yrs in 89 games.
Capwages gets their projected contract information from a site called AFP Analytics. They have an extensive spreadsheet showing project and actual contracts, player comparables, etc. I think they base their contract projections alot on % of total cap. With that said, I don’t think kaiser is worth 5.4M either, not yet anyway.

ParticipantI saw a message a couple of pages back asking about the broadcasting crew for Friday night’s football game. Tried replying to it, but my response hasn’t posted.
Anyway, here’s a site that lists the pro and college football schedule, where to watch it, and the broadcasting team. It’s updated Wednesday or Thursday of each week.

ParticipantLooks like Hockey Hot Stove has entered into an agreement with Capwages.com for salary cap information. Go to the HHS home page and select “Cap Tracker” along the top banner.

ParticipantPrice traded to SJS for 5th round pick. Sharks also send a no name AHL defenseman back to Montreal. Like Metalhead predicted the return was very minimal.

ParticipantI know there’s a lot of love out there for the Habs but i have to admit I’m really curious to see how they do this year. The east looks like it’s getting weaker every year.
Do the Caps all of a sudden look like the Bruins this year? Bolts, Rangers, Pens players all getting AARP cards in the mail. Seems to me some teams are going to be better because their own division is getting worse.
Montreal and Ottawa are a couple of the up and comers. Florida, Toronto and Carolina have the talent. TB still has a little left in the tank. NJ is good enough. WASH may regress, but still make the playoffs. That’s 8.
Boston, NYR, PIT, NYI going the opposite direction. PHI not ready yet. Buffalo is Buffalo. Maybe Columbus and Detroit emerge as bubble teams.

ParticipantI don’t know if it happened to anyone else, but i couldn’t register here, and just figured out a week later that the email to create a password was going to my Spam folder. All good now, just have to figure out how to do my profile
Edit: Actually figured it out.
Glad you made it here.

ParticipantJust a couple of tips that I discovered when commenting here.
To add a comment hit reply on any comment and a new comment is posted.
To reply to a specific comment, select quote on that particular comment, then write your reply.

ParticipantThanks for stopping by Rico. The more the merrier.
Yes Frenchy was worth the long wait for a Hawks blogger.

ParticipantAs Metalhead pointed out earlier, the return for Price alone would be minimal.
I would like to see the trade expanded to get back something of more value. Maybe Reichel could go the other way. I would like to get at least a 2nd rounder back from the Habs in any Price deal.-

ParticipantCould be the Penguins, too. They’ll probably have to retain on someone like Karlsson and/or take money back so they may not need Price’s contract to provide a cushion above the floor. We’ll see.

ParticipantTomorrow, September 1, Montreal wires $5.5M to Carey Price’s bank account, leaving a balance of only $2M, even less including the insurance payout for some team to pay him. We’ll see if a trade happens soon. I think CHI and SJS are the leading candidates. Maybe as some pundits wrote recently the trade would be expanded beyond Price plus a sweetener for future considerations.
