ParticipantThe post that disappeared on me was about Arty. I was reading the bleacher Nation article and they were talking about Arty.
The supposed pro analysts give KD and Co, a bunch of crap for not drafting Demidov. I don’t know about you guys but watching a 210 pound plus kid with his ability to skate in all directions so quickly and the other tools, if he understands time and space and when to pinch down he will be a stud.
The 1st pick of the draft this year looks like a stick figure next to Arty. Guys like Arty are very very rare.

So the site is acting up. I’m trying to post:
He (Knight) did get pissed at our defense a few times last year. But I still think he showed he’s the best goalie we have. His mental state is Waite’s job along with our “mental performance coaches.”September 11, 2025 at 6:53 pm #26822Metalhead
Participantre: Arty vs. Demidov
Time will tell.
Demidov will put up good numbers quickly, playing forward on a much better team.
Meanwhile, every mistake Arty makes might wind up in the back of the Hawk’s net.If Arty reaches his potential, everything will be fine.
While he develops, it’s my plan to ignore analyst and fan noise.Only time will tell.

Participant@boilermaker: will do…. I’ve been having some issues with the comments. Sometimes I get the email notification but then the comment isn’t there, and today I didn’t get any emails at all. I’m doing my best to reply to everyone, but it’s not always easy. Hopefully this gets fixed soon so I can keep up with all of you the way I want to.

Participant@betweenthedots: You know Levshunov vs. Demidov will be compared for years, just like other teams’ draft choices. But the key isn’t the comparison — it’s Arty’s development. If he grows into the level the Blackhawks expect and plays the role they need, then it’s a great pick for Chicago. We can debate draft picks for hours, but for me it’s about enjoying the season ahead. Whatever Demidov does won’t take away from the excitement of seeing Arty develop into his role.

ParticipantKantserov with an assist in his 3rd game. That’s his only point so far. He does have 16 PIM. Must have picked up a misconduct along the way,

Thanks Boilermaker.
I’m hoping for something more direct/specific than the general “info” email.
Wiz is unable to get on here, and I thought maybe Frenchy knows someone who can help him.If not, I’ll try that “info” email.

Participant@boilemaker: Roman Kancerov: 1 assist, 3 SOG FO: 53.9% TOI 11:54 lower of the season but he was gone for 14 MIN PPTOI: 21 seconds and PK 24 seconds… not a bad game overall. His team lost 2-1

ParticipantRoman Kancerov, the Bedard of Magneto. If only there was iron in the puck….

ParticipantDots, something wrong with my cursor, it won’t let me quote you but let me reply. Yikes. We’ve been thru this at HB, and as Frenchy correctly pointed out, Arty and Demidov will be compared forever.
IIRC you were in the same camp as me that yr that the two hardest pieces to add is a #1 Dman, especially a RHD, and a 1 or 2C and if they have size you’re holding aces. Both Artie and Frondell fit that mold although, as you know, I think they went with Frondell cuz he has a super high floor and checks loads of boxes. Generally speaking when you are drafting top 5 and something like that presents you have to grab that rare and coveted commodity. You must, it’s the right thing to do. In fact I posted a month out from that draft KD would take Arty cuz it’s the right thing to do. How often does a projected 220lb RHD who can skate? .. I doubt there was a hole lotta debate within the organIzation between Artie and Demidov and I’d say 90% of the league would have done the same thing.
Even though, as you know, I’d bet Buium ends up the best Dman outa the draft but that’s not to say Artie wouldn’t be a core piece on a cup winning team that challenges every yr. And as you know with Demidov, I’m the guy who said the kid looks more like Datsyuk than any player I’d seen since him.. No surprise if he hits 80-90-100 pts a few times. But he’s a winger that is a tad smallish. A great commodity but easier to obtain than a #1 Damn or 1 or 2 C…. You take the rarer commodity especially if loads of boxes are checked.
One more thing, again. 4 yrs ogo Artie was playing in weakish Belurus jrs. Next yr a different continet and USHL. Next yr Michigan St where he’s drafted. Next yr, last yr, 18 NHL games and 52 AHL games. And the kid cleared every hurdle without the benefit of being in the same yr twice……. Simply said IMO Artie has the highest ceiling of anyone in the organIzation not named Bedard ……….

ParticipantMostly agree with you Ricochet. Buium reminds me of Dougie Hamilton. Lots or PP points, but really a #5 defenseman. Demidov will be flashy and put up points. Unfortunately, I don’t see any resemblance to Datsyuk other than he’s Russian. Will be a defensive liability as he’s already shown. Lev will end up a #1 RHD against the strongest opponents within the next 2 years, and putting up points. Kind of a Seabrook+. 3 years away from a top 3 for the Norris.
