ParticipantHey LA Knight and Nazar would like to have a word with you.
Always a defender of the poverty franchises you are.
Just pointing out fake news.
So you are denying that they’ve always had an internal budget? It’s a well known fact, some habits are hard to break

ParticipantCan anyone tell me what Happened to the Lardis 1 timer on the PP late in the period? .. Was it on goal, did it go wide behind the net?…… You can see that kid is good at finding quiet ice and lurks on the weakside. Combined with the best 1 timer in the organIzation when his time comes he’s gonna score some PP goals for the club.
Hayes is making some plays. Always liked what he brings. Misiak is in on a lotta stuff, especially below the dots in the Ozone. … My guy Crevier had a couple shifts he’d like back in the 1st. Allan has had some nice reads/pinches. KK too on his reads. No doubting the skill in his hands and feet.. Dach with a couple decent shifts. ……. I like Gryz, a lot for this roster. He’s a savvy vet who can settle things down… A whole yr of Knight is gonna be a treat. His technical game, and demeanor too, is tremendous.
I don’t know, Chunk. I like what I see tonight, much more than Game 1 v DET. More flow, more connected passes, more structure. Couple solid 1-2 pass outs. .. Guessing the fancies will be much better.

Really? I think Reichel has been one of, if not the, best forward tonight. Lardis has looked OK, but he needs to learn how to work off the boards. Reichel’s work in that area this offseason seems to be paying off.
I think Moore starts the year with the big club, IF he can do what he did tonight consistently (aside from leaving his guy on the second goal). It’s going to be hard to send Dach down if he does this every game as well.

Lardis’ stick broke on the one-timer.
After an iffy first period, and first five minutes of the second everyone seemed to come around. The kids need to make sure they are playing faster. A lot of them still are trying to figure out where to go with the puck before they move and it slows them down.
As long as he stays healthy, Hayes should have a much better year in RFD. I think Misiak is going to be a good two-way forward.

I think he made contact twice in this game with the opposing player. If he’s not willing to battle for the puck i don’t see a lot of playing time for him.

People can say one thing but actions always speak louder than words. I mean this has been going on with all of their RFAs. So you and LA can buy what the billionaire is selling but as i always say put your money where your mouth is and that so called mega rich owner still acting like he cant rub two nickels together.

It’s difficult to say the zebras were shy with their decision. The puck was in play in an attack zone, so They were cautious.
What say you?

ParticipantSeptember 27, 2025 – St. John 5, Halifax 3 (QMJHL) – more prospect notes
Shawn Carrier Halifax Mooseheads 14-Mar-07 5-10 183 LW (Undrafted 2025)
Carrier is short, thick and agile, and is good down low and around the net. Is able to get the puck on the net in the offensive zone. Good energy, had a power play goal early in the 2nd period to give his team the lead Line was 59-18-26-44 at Halifax last year but was passed over in the 2025 draft. A jump in scoring would help him in looking for a 2026 draft slot.Liam Kilfoil Halifax Mooseheads 21-Mar-07 5-11 179 LC (Undrafted 2025)
Kilfoil is around the puck all the time and is good at getting possession. Showed some good carry into the offensive zone, dug the puck out of the corner and had an assist; had some other nice passes too. Active in all zones, contests for the puck in deep and along the boards. Had 62-21-25-46 at Halifax last year, with his good energy and some more scoring could get consideration in 2026 draft. Kilfoil was at the Detroit NHL camp and just returned, also he will play at Northeastern starting in 2027.Oleg Kulebyakin Halifax Mooseheads 11-Jan-08 5-10 170 LHRW (2026 eligible)
Kulebyakin is new to the QMJHL, he is not large but is very active and has a nose for the net. Reads the play well and is dangerous on offense, had a back door goal early and several chances throughout the game. Plays on the left on the power play, and sometimes plays as a LHRW. Had a nice defensive breakup on a 2-on-1 rush late in the game. Showed talent last year with 33-33-39-72 in 16U AAA. Not ranked right now, but could jump up into the rankings for the 2026 draft.Olivier Groulx Saint John Sea Dogs 25-Jul-07 6-2 192 LC (Undrafted 2025)
Groulx has the size to play the physical game and is a well-rounded player. Carries well and can make good passes; had an assist in this game and plays up high to distribute on the power play. Was passed over in the 2025 draft after 64-17-24-41 at SJ last year at Halifax. Has shown leadership and wore an “A” last year. If scoring and physical play stand out more, could work his way into the 2026 draft.Olivers Murnieks Saint John Sea Dogs 31-Jul-08 6-1 194 LC (2026 eligible, Wiz #45)
Murkieks has good size and showed speed and agility in the game. Plays the wing on the power play. Was able to get some chances and hit the post on one rush, stole the puck in the offensive zone and got a shot chance but it was tipped away. Won 10 of 17 faceoffs, and was a threat in the game although not denting the score sheet. Ranked in the second round for the 2026 draft and his raw tools show why. 52-15-20-35 for Sioux City USHL last year and played well for Latvia in international play. 5 assists in 4 game so far this year.Dylan Rozzi Saint John Sea Dogs 8-Mar-08 5-11 174 LW (2026 eligible. Wiz #156)
Rozzi had a goal close in and was dangerous on the power play. Is able to carry the puck in the zone and maneuver well. Had a shot block on defense. Has added some weight this year and may be able to use that as the season goes on. Had 62-14-20-34 last year in Saint John, and 4 points in 4 games so far this year. Looks to be in the mid rounds for the 2026 draft.William Yared Saint John Sea Dogs 21-Jan-08 6-2 190 RC (2026 eligible)
A player with nice size and a consistent game. Did not notice any outstanding plays, but at the end of the night had a goal and 2 assists. Played down low on the power play and scored. Not ranked for 2026 but with more good games like this could easily find a 2026 draft slot.Cameron Chartrand Saint John Sea Dogs 3-Mar-08 6-0 204 RD (2026 eligible, Wiz #47)
Good sized, thick RD who showed well on defense tonight. Has a good point shot that he can get through to the goal. Seems mobile and able to move well side-to-side on defense. Skills show why he could go fairly high in the 2026 draft.2027 Eligibles:
Alexis Joseph Saint John Sea Dogs 16-Jun-09 6-4 201 LC
Joseph was a #1 pick in the QMJHL entry draft. New to the league, good size, active, had a hat trick in this game, good on the attack. Someone to watch for 2027.Malik L’Italien Halifax Mooseheads 10-Jun-09 6-3 187 LD
A high pick in the QMJHL draft, was very active and showed well on both offense and defense. Had an impressive end-to-end rush for a shot, good on offense, mobile on defense. 2027 eligible.Notes log: hockeystew25.blogspot.com/

Good goal, and a nice snipe, Moore is so fast, he beat the fight!

I guess in pre-season it is a good goal. In post season (Hjalmasson 7th game) not so much

One that was a beauty of a goal, two I’ve always felt if the opponent instigates a fight when you have a chance at a breakaway it should count if it goes in.

ParticipantNathan Behm is back in Kamloops and had 2 goals last night and 1G 1A so far tonight. He is going to benefit a lot from playing on a line with RW JP Hurlbert who is highly ranked (mid 2nd round) for the 2026 draft and then going to Michigan next fall. Hurlbert has 3G and 2A with 17 shots in the last 2 nights. Behm had a really nice pass on the power play but the shooter hit the post. He also has a bunch of hard shots on goal tonight and triggered a nice breakaway and got an assist.
Kamloops RW Ty Bonkowski is a candidate for a late pick in 2026 but has 2G 1A in these two games. Kamloops G Logan Edmonstone (2026 eligible) has had a really good game (shutout) also. Still think Seattle G Sklenicka has some potential although he has given up some goals, still has a good save percentage.
Kamloops comes to Seattle next weekend and I am looking forward to seeing these guys in person.

ParticipantIt’s looking like Behm may be this year’s Lardis. If Behm gets into the 50+ goal mark, it’s a success.
