ParticipantI talked with Steve from Glencoe yesterday and he laughed as I told him the new board was missing him.
He was adamant that GM KYle needed some more vetearn talent. That the youth movement wasn’t answering the bell after the stack of losses. I said that I thought there was not going to be any in season upgrades b/c the true talent isn’t on sale just yet, that UFA talent in the post season was where they would find some will high end talent that adds 2026 needs, but they are committing to this youth movement now whether he likes it or not.

ParticipantI say stay the course, KFC. You don’t pull a crop out of the ground before it’s ready. Just look at Bedard. He is so much better than he was last year! The boys are learning to play in the NHL.

ParticipantI really like where the rebuild is. It’s time for the kids to play and learn to become pros.
I think Murphy, Dickinson and Lafferty are the only starting players on this team from 2022.
It’s the opposite of being up against the cap and every year you have to trade away talent and your team gets weaker, young talent is developing and every time one of them can play well in the NHL the team will only get stronger and stronger.
They have so much talent in the pipe line it’s crazy. With currently 2 top 10 picks if the season was to end today.

ParticipantMan, Spencer Knight is just the MVP of this team. Outstanding play from him this season. I think he has had maybe one game where he wasn’t great.

ParticipantSo, I stream CHSN because I refuse to be taken advantage of by Comcast. There are about four minutes left in the game, and all of a sudden, the feed shuts down, and they post that the Hawks won 5-2. It was 4-1 when the feed shut down. WTF? I was able to backtrack the time to see Bedard score the empty net goal. How about Knight and Bertuzzi? My top two stars of the game. Their defense was nothing to write home about and they gave up a lot of SOG’s, but it was fun to watch.

Happens in NFL games too and has for years. For whatever reason, watching games on Fubo or Sunday Ticket are less of a delay than national tv and regional outlets. My son put the Bears game on via Hulu on our local CBS affiliate and I was getting updates on my phone before the Bears scored on tv and knew to switch it over to Sunday Ticket channel and sure enough I was getting the updates the same time as I saw it live on tv.

ParticipantReichel was the only -2 Forward in the game last night and was outscored by our goalie.

ParticipantHe has looked good I guess in these 2 games.
Has playmaking skills,Donato whiffed on a behind the net pass from Moore vs Seattle, and in this game I think it bounced off him. Doesn’t matter,Moore seems to be contributing. As long as he doesn’t play really bad,I think the Hocks will keep him up in the NHL even when Dickinson returns. Not sure how much room they have on the NHL roster? I assume since they traded Reichel, even if D1ck!nson comes back, there will be room for Moore on the NHL roster?

ParticipantYou guys aren’t going to believe this but Lazerus is actually writing positive things about the Blackhawks.
It’s funny how many of them did and now can actually see the plan unfolding.

It will be interesting to see how that plays out through the season as it goes on. The shooting percentage will continue to come down to the curve but the Hawks are slowly getting better at getting shots on net. Over the last 6 games we are even in shots for and shots against, with those coming out even at 5v5. I think in part the Hawks were trailing a bit more, so a bit more motivation to get offense going when you are behind, vs the early part of the season where the Hawks didn’t trail for much of time on ice. I think a long road trip like this can help galvanize the team together while they players are learning life under the new coaching staff and in some cases still learning the NHL ropes.
I’m sure they are going to look to get the 2nd line rolling again which has been quiet the last few games. I know Bertuzzi has been scoring a few goals, but none of them were while he was on the second line, as he was out there on the PP or with line 3 or 4 for a shift.

ParticipantSomebody alluded to PDO here recently, I think. Hawks PDO is currently 102.9. Eventually they will regress to the mean of 100.0. But, no doubt the team is playing better. Let’s hope they continue to improve and continue enjoying watching the games.
