ParticipantI can’t help but be disappointed in the number of defensive breakdowns the Hawks suffered in this game. I think it is time to end the 11/7 gambit Blashill has going on. These forwards are tired by the end of the game and it showed tonight. I watched Lev get knocked on his ass a couple of times. He needs to go back to the Rock! I counted three times Bedard got slashed, cross-checked, and took a hit to the head, and these Referees are not making the calls. If I were KFC, I would complain to the league. This is the future of hockey and they should be treated as such.

ParticipantI read today Larry Brooks NYC hockey writer died at 75. I loved beating the pants off of him during mock draft season.
I am also 75.Should I start thinking about my mortality?(Or as Steve from Glencoe said to me a week ago, “You want to wait until you’re 80 when the Blackhawk team actually is good?)
I just drove up to Chicago from the funeral of a dear friend and fellow Math teacher. We were assigned to the same school in 1972. We bought highly expensive plane tickets when we finally knew the date of the funeral, but last Friday the airline could guarantee the King wouldn’t cancel the flight, son we got in the car and drove up for the funeral this last snowy Monday.
Currently South of Atlanta on my way back to St. Petersburg, FL.Even though the outcome was one HAWK point, there was plenty of hitting by the Hawks and plenty of continuing upside.
Although I am the guy who still wants to win one more lottery, i thing there will soon reach a high water mark in the standings and then level of in one of the 18 slots the teams not going to Lord Stanley’s Cup slot into…November 14, 2025 at 10:26 am #48929BetweenTheDots
ParticipantSorry about your friend Wiz.
When it comes to the game when i started counting the times they didn’t check someone in the flow of the game it was 11. Vlasic, Bertuzz, Moore, even Bedard. Kind of disappointed when they were going after Bedard the Blackhawks didn’t go after Hughes or Bratt.

ParticipantArticles out there on Chicago moving Crevier. If we do we won’t just give him away. I think Murphy is more likely to be moved. I wonder how many scouts are watching Rockford games?

ParticipantMurphy yes, no to Crevier, honestly be okay if they hold on to Murphy a wee bit longer.
Get used to it, they are going to throw these out there left and right because we are stacked at young talent, KD will wait unless a player like Reichel appears then they will be dealt.

ParticipantWhen it comes to mortality I’m a lot more concerned about quality of life, that’s why i stay active, i do need to eat better and drink less but hey 1 out 3 ain’t bad.

ParticipantI had season tickets at the old stadium. I drank enough beer in those fifteen years to last me a lifetime. I will drink socially, but I limit myself to two beers. I am done leaning over the porcelain throne. As far as Murphy goes, he has been playing well. These kids aren’t ready to be on their own.

ParticipantThanks my friend….
Frenchy, Boilermaker was posting links to you for a long time. I think most found you clicking one of his links…… You as a scout blogging about our team is such an incredible resource it’s just a shame the hoops a poster has to go thru to post. And worse, it probably ain’t gonna get better.
I can’t believe you’re not behind a paywall so we’re all kinda stealing anyway.. If you can answer, is there another place we can read your work?

ParticipantJust saw this. The Hawks are tied for 3rd with ANA for league best goal differential behind COL and CAR………. No matter the fancies this is incredible 17 games in.

ParticipantThanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it. Right now, everything I write is posted here on Hockey Hot Stove. This is the only place where I’m sharing my articles, and I’m happy to contribute and talk hockey with you guys. Thanks again for following along — it means a lot.

ParticipantThese kids may be green but they are so much fun to watch.

ParticipantMaybe this is the fan in me, but it seems to me that the replay officials in Toronto are sticking it to the Blackhawks. The stick above the shoulders was a no-doubter. We all saw it. That offsides that wasn’t called. Unless he had the puck on a string ala Mikita, he did not maintain possession. Bedard constantly getting kicked out of faceoff’s. The penalties that are not called. I don’t mean to whine, but my God! Call the game right.

ParticipantHonestly in game it drives me crazy with the officials, after the game I’m really impressed they are not letting it rattle them and winning in spite of the refs. Sign of a team that battles through adversity.
