<p class=”userway-s15-active” data-userway-s15-styled=”true” style=”font-family: UDF, serif !important; transition: all;”>It’s very unlikely that Crevier is traded for another D. (unless an AHL depth D-man is included as a minor part)
That means the current roster goes to 6 defensemen.
Any injury (Murphy’s chronic groin problem is due to make an appearance) would drop them to 5 current guys.
That tells me Crevier is traded *only* if the team is 100.00000% certain that one of KK, EDM, Allan can, at minimum,
replace what Crevier is giving the Hawks so far this year.
Also: Crevier is a right shot, the other 3 are all left shot.

    <p class=”userway-s15-active” data-userway-s15-styled=”true” style=”font-family: UDF, serif !important; transition: all;”>Are those guys ready?
I’ve checked around, it seems that all 3 are at least “doing well” in RFD this season.
Does anyone here watch a lot of RFD games? Interested in hearing about their performance.
    (cough new Frenchy article cough)

We’ll be sorry for years if we trade the big guy. He’s decent defensively, nobody F’s with him and his right shot is vicious.

I’m not advocating for or against trading Crevier.
Just trying to define the initial, internal circumstance(s) that would even get it to step one of feasibility.
It does not seem like that has even happened yet.

If KK/EDM/Allan burst onto the “NHL Ready” scene, that would be cause for an updated “what if” post.
I don’t think it would be Crevier they part with, unless someone solidly overpays.

Centers and right shot defensemen are the most sought after players in the NHL. Murphy’s contract is ending this year, so unless KD gets blown away Crevier is staying put. I know that you weren’t advocating for it, just throwing it out there.

Hawks on pace for 103 1/2 points, currently in the first wild card position.
Sniffing right behind WPG at this point for 3rd in the division.
The longer this lasts, the better it is. (even if they fall off down the road)

What is poignant about their play is that they are performing it while missing three veterans. I can’t wait until more kids come up. I think Bedard is starting to have fun. There are more kids to play with in the sandbox!

I don’t think anyone would have thought that Chicago would be top 5 in GA/G and GF/G both at around the quarter point of the season. The team is a +16 GF vs GA on the season through 19 games. I know the momentum will slow down but it’s giving the team confidence that is helping these young players push each other. Fun to see them taking steps towards being a solid team.

Bedard is really breaking out now after maturing for a couple seasons as a teenager. I would argue that offensively he is every bit as dangerous as Patrick Kane was at his peak, but this kid is only 20 and still likely to improve. I spoke a lot last year about how he needed that explosiveness on the attack to put defenders on their heels and he has delivered it. He makes some unbelievable passes to set up teammates, but I have to say he is really good with his feet too, and his ability to pivot and attack with speed is evident. Glad to see him finally getting to the point where he isn’t pushed around so much by the physical play in the NHL. His overall game, even away from the puck is growing as he just battles better, wins more pucks and makes a bigger impact.

The kid pretty much shattered the narrative that Chicago needed to “Get him help” by adding big expensive free agents to his line. He just needed time to mature more than anything.

Overall it’s been nice to just see more overall offensive depth. Donato/Teravinen/Bertuzzi were the supporting offensive pieces after Bedard, but adding Burakovsky, Nazar, and recently Moore, the Hawks are just a more balanced attacking team, especially when you consider the little extra we get from Mikheyev, Greene, Dach. We could be scary good offensively down the road here with some of the talent coming up.

I want to see the Nazar and Moore off to the races play 5 times a game.

Anybody else think Bedard got tripped before his empty netter?

Was interesting to see Arty leading the D men in ice time through two periods.
I believe he was 2nd only behind Vlasic.

Rinzel got the sheltered zone starts, and had a solid game.

Bedard’s FO numbers up to 48%,not bad considering how bad he started the 1st few games of the season.

The overhead view on Greene’s dish to Bedard and Bedard’s wrist shot is pretty insane.

    Some weird stats out there
I think the Kings only have 6 regulation wins, and have played 13 games on the road and only 7 at home!
Montreal and San Jose – both doing well in the standings, but both have a lot of OT wins.

I think I’m in the minority when I say I hate 3 on 3 OT hockey

I think it could come in handy on the PK at some point.
Throw Mikheyev a bone too,I’m sure he could do the same.

I thought it was a trip, but he got the empty netter anyways.
Nice save by Arvid too, right before 98 hit his EN.

I hate 3 on 3 and the shootout. Can’t say what would be better but wouldn’t want anything over a 10 min. OT.
