ParticipantLooked to me that Frondell has a good 1st period. Fast and good puck protection. After that he was very strong on the back check but stood around a bit in the offensive zone. I found Stenberg’s dad and reminded him about Nashville. He told me that he remembered when Ivar said he would be 1st overall this year. He said it surprised him because Ivar was so small now he getting close to 6 feet. Stenberg said he would be happy if Ivar was drafted by Chicago. Said Frondell is better at center than wing. We coincidently sat right behind the Bjorcks. Wilson was scratched but Viggo was in the lineup and is a top 10 prospect. He moved from the 2nd line to the first as the game went on. He scored. Replaced Stenberg on pp1 as the game went on. Wilson said he played with Frondell for years and thinks he’s better at wing. Took everything Sweden had to beat Switzerland. Could have gone either way. We made it to the Finland Lavia game as the first period ended 3-0. Finland had the puck 90% of the next 2 periods. Hard to tell who is good because each line looked great. Latvia #23 Smits is a top 10 prospect. My kid thought he was the best player on the ice. I thought he was running around in his own zone. Got pictures with Stenberg’s dad, Draper and Bob Murray. Going to 3 games tomorrow and 10pm flight back to Chicago.

ParticipantYeah, i have been watching Viggo Bjork for a couple seasons and he is impressive in the dot, or on the wing(s), and plays a solid 200 foot game.
I started him in my first round in my Mock, but as I started viewing more and of the bigger centres, forwards, defnseman and even the smaller offenseman, I backed him into the 2nd pick in the second round, 33 overall with the forfeited Ottawa pick around 14-16…I guess I have always looked at my mocks withe Blackhawks as the main focus, and I am not so sure they are coveting more small forwards, and may be looking for either nasty players at both positions and maybe one who has bith snarl and size.
I mean unless they pick top 5, I don’t see any reason they cannot prioritize size and fill in the line-up futures with bigger boys.

ParticipantYeah, the first game today is Sweden.
I love getting the looks at big #16 Frondell.
He is responsible physical, and a load to deter, and decisiosn on whether he is a pivot or wing will iron out in the future, b/c he generates chances well.

ParticipantYeah, Latvian Alberts Smits is a kid any NHL team could groom as their big defender, despite the fact he plays the left side.
We can talk about the Blackhawks left defenseman depth, but I think he fills a differnet type need on the backline.
He is a tough, confindent in his abilities and snarl that he isn’t ever going to back down from playingb to his strengths.
A lot depends upon when Lil Frankie and Bedsy return to impact the draft standings negatively (with hawk wins, lol…), but I think they will looking at most big guys when they select…

ParticipantDay 4 was great. Frondell was dominant. He has the best shot here and the 2nd best on the Hawks. The draftable Bjorck looked real good. He older brother dresses and played hard. Finland Czech was a great game. I thought Nestrasil was standing around a bit in 2nd and 3rd. He is stronger than I thought and has good hockey sense. Made it to USA Slovakia for the 2nd. Spellacyplayed great. Fast and strong. Not afraid. Ryder Lee played really well. Best snipe we saw. Can’t believe the Hawks passed on him 3 times. That could look bad in a few years. Every time I saw someone I liked and asked my son who has them it was either a Capitals 2nd rounder or a Sabre. Lots of interesting prospects here. Sad to head home. This is the best hockey experience I’ve had. Best on best saw 10 games in 4 days.

ParticipantI agree with this so so so much, hopefully the same message is given to our forwards.
I know they aren’t producing a ton on the score sheet but in my eyes Greene, Moore, Lardis are playing solid NHL hockey.

ParticipantI’m sure SFG and LA responded to this, hahaha
Funny he has a line in there for the many
Humans crave instant gratification from their entertainment, and hockey is entertainment.

ParticipantI know fans want a big splash and i think next year they will get at least 2, Frondell and Kantserov.
With Arty getting more and more comfortable his skating is getting more and more impressive especially his edges.
The amount of non calls today are going to eventually be called for this young group as they get bigger and stronger and faster, the amount of holding, interference, hooking and slashing the opponent is able to play as if they aren’t penalties is impressive.

ParticipantI really like Moore and Lardis together.
Worked very well together in a short stint in Rockford and glad to see them reunited on the big stage.

ParticipantBedard got screwed by Team Canada but it will make him more pissed off and less likely to get injured.
