Participantwhy don’t you write about a topic you want to discuss?
I agree w/ Boilermaker.
As people get more familiar with the comment section quirks, the more activity there will be.
Helping newer members figure it out will help increase the hockey content.September 10, 2025 at 3:59 pm #26423Metalhead
Participantre: Laurent Brossoit
Other than idle speculation about trading him, has anyone read *any actual info*
about his health status going into training camp? This info has been locked down forever, it seems.

ParticipantOk dreamers, time to start the countdown to July 1st:
Frank Seravalli @frank_seravalli 3h
Sources say #mnwild superstar Kirill Kaprizov’s camp turned down an extension offer believed to be 8-years, $128 million
in a meeting on Tuesday in Minnesota that would have made him the highest-paid player in #NHL history in both AAV ($16 million) and total dollars.Eklund was right lol. He’s totally coming to Chicago next year!

1) The Wild won’t let him walk for nothing. Chicago or whomever will have to pay an arm and both legs in any trade deal. Probably have to include 2 or 3 of our upcoming studs plus some draft picks.
2) Maybe he just wants a shorter term contract, maybe 3 x 16M, so he can sign for 3 x 19M, then 3 x 22M down the road. Of course Guerin would like the cost certainty of 8 x 16M. It seems an awful lot now, but won’t be in 4-5 years. Here’s a Minnesota writer’s viewpoint.

ParticipantI was trying to respond about the Kurvers tournament that Oliver Moore is a very key player. Also, I think KD will try to sign Knight sooner rather than later. But I look for shorter term, 4 years.

Does Brossoit have red hair? Is he someone’s step-child? The Hawks have had him hidden in the basement since he got injured. Talk about keeping a tight lid on things.
Best case scenario is he starts the season healthy, gets a few games in and does decently (Hawks would have to keep all three goalies on the roster), and someone else’s goalie or backup wets the bed or gets injured making him trade fodder. Chances of all three happening are slim and none.

Kiprisov has a NMC so if he doesn’t sign soon Minny might need to take back what the Leafs got for Marner if they can prove meddling, otherwise he can to a Tavares/Sundin.

They could have an AHLer take a run at him in camp and show him the error of his ways.

If all three goalies, four if you count Commesso are still around at the start of the season I see a revolving IR door until KD unloads Soderblom or Brossoit.

ParticipantThanks a lot for the feedback ???? I try to bring more than the usual surface-level talk and give fans real context and details. Glad you enjoyed the deeper dive! Once the games get going, I’ll have plenty of video highlights and updates coming your way. Appreciate your support!

ParticipantWelcome to HHS, and thanks for jumping into the forum! ???? It’s definitely possible the Blackhawks push to sign him early to secure the long-term benefits, while Knight might prefer to wait and see before committing.

ParticipantI don’t see Kaprizov leaving the Wild either. As for Davidson, he’s staying patient — likely until the trade deadline — and then looking at UFAs next summer. My own target would be Kyle Connor. If Brossoit is healthy, they could carry three goalies for a few weeks before a trade, or even loan him to the AHL on a conditioning stint.
If there are any topics you’d like me to cover, feel free to ask — I try to check in here once or twice a day.

Commesso is their AHL goalie.
If the other 3 are all healthy, then (as Frenchy mentioned) they can just roster all 3 while they figure it out.13F

3GIt’s unusual, but they would make the cap floor with room to spare. (Weber contract goes on IR in this scenario)

ParticipantI just read Kroll Kaprizov turned down 16 million a year. Heard that they are still negotiating. I just read other posts, so not breaking news.
