ParticipantMcDavid signs 2 years x $12.5m.
A true star and team player.
Take note Matthews.

Participanthumm,……
I see some post are gone.
Thanks Cush for the now gone post about the waived players.
A. Nylander. I though he signed an AHL contract again with the Marlies.

not so deep cuts the knife with a 2 year deal.

Matthews ain’t doing that.

so his deal ends the same time as Matthews, and if they dont win a cup in 3 years, they can both sign with Florida for 1.5m each

Wonder why my post was deleted?
McJesus signing or 2 years at far less than what he is worth to me is simply him saying to Edmonton’s brain trust “if you clowns can’t get me the supporting cast to win a cup I’m gone afterwards”.
Him taking a deep discount to allow them to do that is him really putting the pressure on the Oilers.
The fact his deal ends the same year as Matthews is wildly intriguing and will make for some heated chatter from almost all fanbases if neither of them extend very early before that deal is done. I can already hear the chirping about how both Canadian markets are going to lose their captains etc……
lol

ParticipantLeafs make a couple waiver wire claims.
Cayden Primeau and Sammy Blais
I would guess this may end the Reimer return.

Honestly I think he will 100% leave Edmonton. To me this 2 year deal had as much to do with Drais as it did with anything else. It’s McJesus controlling it as he should.
– oilers either get an actual team and stop relying on 2 superstars and a PP or he’s gone
– I think Drais deal started this year? If yes then it gives him 3 years with McDavid
No way after Drais signed that long was McDavid going to take off immediately. This way it even gives the German an opportunity to say he played 3 years of his deal before asking out…which I feel he will as I don’t think Bowman will be able to fill out the roster. As much as it’s an easy sell to say come play with the best player on earth – it’s a bit difficult to say come to Edmonton. Nothing against the city necessarily, it’s just not a players fav destination to play.
At the end of it all I see McDavid go to:
Leafs
NYR
Kings
Avs (Wildcard)October 6, 2025 at 2:29 pm #39554Unholy_Goalie

Primeau’s NHL numbers are not that great so this looks more like a gamble chasing future potential rather than current proven results.
Blais is a 4th liner Berube trusts from St. Louis days, crash and bang spark plug.

ParticipantMcDavid signed for 12.5M because he knows Marner is his closest comparable in the league.
Marner and McDavid won gold for Team Canada.
My prediction is Marner and McDavid will win a cup in Vegas. Marner will already have one or two, but will get 4+ when McDavid joins him.

Sorry just to continue from my above post.
I mean, who here can really say that the following players are more valuable:
Nate-Dog
Draisaitl
Kucherov
Matthews
Makar
Eichel
Q. Hughes
Kaprizov
Pasta
Vasilevskiy
Bob
B. Tkachuk
M. TkachukNobody! Marner will go down as the best winger to ever put on a pair of ice hockey skates. With the nicest driest hair and gear after games.

Blais played 0 NHL games last year. He was an AHLer. So, he’s not locked into the line-up over those guys yet.
Blais has always been a 13th forward type player, even under Berube in St. Louis, never played a full NHL season in his career.
